Crossovers

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by Dark Lord Sethos, Apr 4, 2007.

  1. Greetings everyone. I have discovered the wonderful world of HP Crossovers recently and I was wondering if any of you knew of any crossover websites.
I know of the one at Fiction Alley and the one here in the The Alternate's section. Anybody else have any thoughts?

Go over to the intro thread and introduce yourself.
That said, I think we have a Alternate/Crossover C2 run by one of the members here on fanfiction.net. If not, well... you can always brave the fanfiction.net search engine. Sorry, if Im not too much help.

I know that there is a far wider array of crossovers out there, but if you are interested in BtVS crossovers ( meaning Buffy the Vampire Slayer) go to http://www.tthfanfic.com/ and browse around. The original site was created several years back by someone who very bravely went through all the then-active BtVS crossover writers who had (in her opinion) a decent understanding of spelling and grammar and invited them to come over to her new site. There are no restrictions on characters, any pairing/groupings are allowed but they should be clearly marked, and the only fandoms not permitted are the ones with authors who specifically said 'no fanfics' - I think just Anne Rice, Anne McCaffrey, and Mercedes Lackey. All archived stories are held to basic grammar & spelling standards. Non-BtVS crossovers are permitted on a limited basis.

There are close to two thousand Harry Potter crossovers. Main characters, pairings, genres and completed/WiP status vary.

Many authors also have links to other sites where they archive their work. I'd think that might be safer than braving fanfic.net to search for stories.

It might not be exactly what you're looking for, but it's a start, and it shouldn't make your eyes bleed and your brain scream for bleach.

Like Lucinda said, there's a very wide variety of crossovers around, some only dabbling into another world and some jumping onto the mini handheld Lightsabers and Logan claws bandwagon from that one story.

For example, though I haven't checked for HP crossovers there myself, The Fanfiction Forum (http://z14.invisionfree.com/The_Fanfiction_Forum/index.php?act=idx) would be a good bet for anime crossovers. You could also check anifics, but I wouldn't hold my breath unless you like carrotglace' stuff. Even then though, he's gotten quite a bit rusty from when he was on long hiatus.

If you're looking for stuff like DC/Marvel/WOT or other such crossovers, I'll search the dreaded intarwebs, since it's my day off and I really have nothing better to do.

As you guys have been saying, it's rare but I'd like to see a good Harry/Comic crossover. Most of the ones I've found aren't very good. (The exceptions being Shattering Mirrors and Wizard of Gotham)

I'd also like to see one with a different crossover than X-Men. Possibly Daredevil. Or maybe someone like Deadpool.

You'd think with the whole idea of crossovers you'd be able to get a good variety in specific areas but they're all fairly cliche. Well I think so anyway.
