Emo, really? I never twigged to that.

Don't bother with the sequel, Return to Normal. The preachiness factor is dialled up. Way up. I perservered through, but ending up skipping a fair bit. And the story just isn't as good, anyway.

    QFT.

One crossover I've always wanted to see was Metal Gear Solid/Harry Potter. There's an incomplete one at this link, but it's basically abandoned. Pity too, as it was just getting good.

I seem to remember once coming across a HP/300 crossover. Shockingly enough, it was well done, though it only had 3 chapters. It used the usual 'Harry gets hit with killing curse, and funky shit happens instead of him dying' plot gimmick, but it was a good quick read. I'm sorry to say that I don't have a link to it. It's a shame, Harry shooting spells out of a spear ranks pretty high on the bad-assometer.

I had an idea for a HP/Hellsing crossover oneshot. It would've had Charlie meet Alucard in Romania, with Alucard going there for nostalgic purposes...sort of. Had no action or anything, just dialogue and stuff. Never really thought it'd be any good though, so I just brushed it aside.

Death, In Glory. It was put up For Review here, and written by a former member (former in the banstick way).

EDIT: @Mindless: Oh, I know. I was just pointing it out for Orm Embar.

There's an author I particularly like who has a talent for crossing Star Wars with other genres. They arent HP crossovers but I think they're worth mentioning anyway, since his stories are long and actually damn good.

His name is Darth Marrs and this is his account at ff.net

My favorite story of his has to be Legacy of the Red Son. Its a triology that is a serious take on Superman in the Star Wars universe during the reign of the Empire. Great stuff.

Another favorite from Darth Marrs is Gods of Dark and Light. Its a Stargate crossover, barely. No SG1 or Atlantis. It deals with the Ori invading the GFFA. I thought it was genuis.

Hmmm.... how about Harry being raised by Destro and the Baroness from GI Joe? Forget the stupid cartoon, it's the comics I'm thinking of. Anyone have any ideas what I could do with this besides what I've already cooked up?

    Allow me to elaborate:

James McCullen Destro XXIV is a Scottish Arms Dealer who wears a metal mask (when conducting business)due to a family tradition dating back to the 14th century. He has a huge castle in Callander, Scotland, and, I would imagine, a library full of books that pre-date the International Statute of Secrecy. He follows a code of honor that only he understands, but he tries to treat people with respect(if he thinks they deserve it). He's a billionaire, and is willing to sell arms to both sides of the conflict to stir it up even more, and therefore= more profit.

Anastasia Cisarovna is a Czech Baroness who strayed onto the path of terrorist for hire after her brother was murdered by an American soldier(who later turns out to be Snake-Eyes) while doing humanitarian work in Vietnam. She never knew he was actually murdered by Viet Cong. She's deadly, cunning, and most importantly, in love with Destro. Any child of hers would inherit a sharp tongue, I am certain. Let's not forget she's a hottie who prefers to wear catsuits.

Have them adopt Harry and do what they always tried to do in the comics- permanently sever ties with COBRA and try to live a more quiet life.

Hermione would hate him- Destro was publicly known for what he was, so having heard about him on the muggle news, she would tell anyone who would listen what an evil man Harry's father is. That's all I have so far.

Now do you see why this appeals to me?

I've been working on one on and off in which Harry is raised by Harmon Rabb and Sarah MacKenzie from JAG. SO he's raised as a Navy brat....

The characters actually seem pretty interesting, though I've never read the comic or watched the cartoon, but do you really want to be responsible for being the person to introduce GI Joe as a crossover? Seriously?

    THE SPORES!

man, the spores were epic. And Cobra Commander is one of the best villains ever.

Also, Aekiel, get the cartoons, you are missing out on great popculture history.

In my experience, multiverse crossovers fail. There are just so many different things that they're crossing into that they don't manage a decent job in any of the universes.

The only state that doesn't suck.

I've actually been following this one for a while. It's not really a good story, but fuck if it isn't enjoyable.
