How can you do that, btw? I've been meaning to grab a few games to donate to the next Secret Santa, but I can't figure out how to do that on Steam. Does the "give as a gift thing" save it for later, or do I have to give it straight away?

 

For Amazon games it's easy. After you buy them, you go to your Amazon "Games and Software Library", click "View product key", and that's the cdkey you put into Steam to activate the game there [assuming the cdkey is a Steam compatible one].

If you wanted to give the game away in a Secret Santa, then you'd just give the recipient your cdkey from Amazon. Don't put the cdkey into Steam yourself, or it won't be any good as a gift. They only work once.

For Steam purchased games it's easy. Add the game to cart. Choose "Buy as a gift". On the next screen choose "Store the gift in my inventory to send later".

When it comes time to gift the game to someone, they first have to be added to your friend's list. Then gift it. Easy peasy.

 

So...anyone got a legit copy and wants to play the Westeros mod in Multiplayer, I need to figure it out but I'm really in the mood to crush some Stark scum...

If so,just post the time that you can play +the timezone.

Muslim dynasties now playable. From the looks of the attached image a few new things; Multiple wives for Muslim leaders and some weird new stat involving alcohol(?).

Is there a working Westeros mod for CKII?

Having major trouble trying to install the westeros mod. I've copied it into my mod older but it's not showing up as an option at the start.

My friend did the same and it worked for him but when he clicked the option for the mod it just brought him to the vanilla game.

EDIT: Got the mod option to show up but now I'm having the same problem as my friend. It says I'm playing the GoT mod but the map and all the characters are vanilla.

 

Hmm. I assume you copied over the .mod file and the folder correctly, so have you tried re-downloading it? Could be you got a corrupted version. I installed it downloaded/installed it a few hours ago, so the current version is definitely uncorrupted.

 

Downloaded and installed again. Still saying I'm playing the mod but delivering the vanilla game. Shitsux.

 

Do you have the registered version? Because I had this problem, I fixed it before buying the game but I can't remember how and the minute I got a vanilla copy it worked fine from the jump.

The only thing I can think of otherwise is that you left out the movie clip, some people have been doing that for some reason.

 

Bought the game off Amazon and downloaded it. Takes hours on my shitty internet at home, but that's fine. Start's extracting after 4 hours of dowloading, and then it stops at 65% extraction because it's unable to open an afp file. It's done this twice now. Any ideas?

 

All right, so I just got done playing my first ten hour run of a dynasty with Gwynned. I figured, you know, try and keep Wales alive, maybe make it to Kingdom and hold out as long as possible against the English (scum).

But I somehow, I went all out. I conquered every single province necessary to form the Kingdom of Wales (including Cornwell and Devon), humbling the English crown in two different wars to do so. Unfortunately I faced a set back when the child king I humbled grew up into an awesome ass-kicking machine who married into the Danish & Imperial families, granting him the most powerful allies he needed to keep his throne against no less than three different wars led by his own nobles (that I was invited to and took part in!).

After the third failed attempt in 1096 (the intent to make England’s crown elective), I went “Fuck it, this boss is here to stay, let him.”, so I decided to go invade Ireland. Because why not, right? I mean it’s Ireland. That’s what they’re there for.

So I fabricate a claim for Dublin and invade the Duchy of Leinster, overthrowing another child lord (not the last times). And as soon as I invaded my Chancellor just got his shit together. He started fabricating claims across all of Ireland, year-by year. I shit you not, I’d be right in the middle of invading say Ossory, and he’d be like “Dude, just got you this little claim on Desmond. You In?”

And I’d be like “That’s nice, dude but I’m kinda in the middle of something with my money kinda shrinking-”

“WHAT’s THAT, BRO? I CAN’T HEAR YOU OVER THE SOUND OF YOUR PUSSY WHINING!”

“… Fucking hell, do it.”

By the time he was done I was so far into Ireland that all was left was Tyrone/Tyroncell under the Duke of Ulster, and Ulster itself under the Gallowayians. This was such a dick move right here: I invaded Galloway and took Ulster and the Duchy title from under him right before I made myself King of Ireland, and then I declared war on him with the ultimate objective of making him my bitch. I took Tyrone first and gave it to my grandson, before making him kneel and kiss my sword. I was flying so high, I married two of my sons to Duchesses in England. That’s right ladies these be my progeny. Come get them.

After that, I invaded Galloway again and took Carrick just for laughs, before launching my armies north into Scotland and placing my uncle on the throne.

… And that’s where things started going to shit. My ungrateful uncle decided to you know, “appease the nobles” and place the Duke of Moray as his heir, instead of the badass 80 year old motherfucker who’d carved a bloody trail of corpses across the Isles. So what did I go and do?

I started a fucking shadow war.

I murdered, I shit you not, a total of six chosen heirs to the throne of Scotland, and another half dozen of their heirs. There was so much noble blood dripping on Scottish soil you’d think the communists were running lynch mobs. I was like “come on, at some point you’re going to have to give up here.”

And unfortunately, I got caught before he did, so I ended up backing off. Which was around the time I noticed my nephews were getting a bit uppity, just right before I died. Leaving my ten year old grandson King of Ireland and Wales.

Fuck.

Every single cunt not under my direct control rose up in rebellion. My uncle Edwig (who creeply as fuck married his sister in law, aka MY MOTHER YOU ASSHOLE), was the biggest threat, having been given the Duchies of Connachat and Ulster by his father (Thanks Gramps, you trusting dick), and proceeded to raise two thousand men to his banners. My other uncle, Duke of Munster and Leister something I can’t remember raised his banners as well, as did the Irish Counts of Desmond and Tyroncall, and the Lord Mayor of Osmond. Basically, every bastard with a sword in Ireland decided “Time for a war.”

Now, I thought I could win this. I was about to revoke their titles with the four thousand mercenaries I’d been intending to use on the Gallowayans, so I was like “Bring It”. But I forgot that without all the money I’d been bringing in those fuckers would turn fast. Which they did, fighting each other, myself and the rebel lords in a fucking bloodbath across Ireland and Carrick. And in the meantime, I was trying to survive. I slowly cut down every fucker and brought them to white peace, before I made the mistake of trying to imprison Edwig which brought him back on the table as to war.

So after all my armies got shredded, and most of the rebels got the same, it was me versus Edwig. I’d brought back to the fold everyone not named Edwig and I was planning to slowly cut him to death before giving him a white peace, and then kill them all five years down the line when I was an actual adult (and married to the Duchess of Anjou, hells yeah).

And then what happens? The Gallowayins declare war for Carrick (and I surrendered it, no point in fighting for it when I had bigger concerns), and so did every fucker in the south. SO what did I do? I decided to surrender in to Lord Mayor of Osmond’s demands and place my uncle, Duke of York on the throne.

But what no one told me is that he’d only have the crowns. Not the four duchies now in control of a 14 year old and still fighting for two kingdoms he’s not actually ruling (but is heir to).

So at this point, I burnt out. I’m not thinking straight, I’m sick of all this insane shit. So I rebel against my uncle & king (whose making me his heir anyway), and align with Edwig (aka the creepy dude married to my mom).

So yeah. That game’s a dead end right now.
