Nope. They tend to marry some random bannermen for me.

Like Lyanna Stark married Ramsay Bolton lol.

I'm looking on Amazon and they mention all the DLC except the converter. Did you get the standard version or extreme?

Standard version, didn't mention it until I had it but definitely got it.
@ Hachi yeah it's usually that or they marry the lord of the Paps or Littlefinger. It's just this game had Cersei marry and fall in love with Kevin, Lyanna and Rickard had an affair until she moved onto Brandon. And Arriane and Cat married Oberyn and Blackfish respectively.

The incest choice for dynasties (made for Targaryens) might have been changed in an update or something.

Well it still prevents sibling marriage. It was just funny that the heir to the Riverlands had that deformed freak trait. Its been an option for a while, its not unusual (for me) to find one of Balon's brothers marrying Asha, but that might have something to do with the lack of rock wives available for them. Just thought it as interesting that it seemed to be such a huge thing this time around.

I've seen Arianne marry Oberyn a few times, as well as Asha marrying Euron, but never any other weird inbred stuff. My favorite thing is when Arya marries Robert Baratheon, which has happened more than a few times.

The most irritating thing, actually, is that a huge percentage of the time, Arianne marries Renly Baratheon, combining the Stormlands and Dorne, then causing huge bouts of civil war in those regions.

I think the incest tendency in the last patch is due to the religion malus for wedding. I know the only women I could wed as Euron in the AFFC scenario was Asha (otherwise I would get huge penalty and shitty stats). So I did and got like 8 children (wtf Asha you were suppose to be celibate).

So I've been reading this topic off and on and before I check this game out I'd like to ask what it's about and how you play it. It sounds interesting but I don't want to buy it and regret it.

From the way it looks it kinda reminds me of the Civilization series, but I going to guess that game-play wise it's not.

I'll let others pimp it to you, but to get some idea of the mechanics, just download the demo. There's no need to go and buy the full game.

    It's very different from Civ.

To see what the game is about, what stories it's able to tell, go and read some LPs. I'm sure some folks here have some good ones to link you.

The thread alone was the reason I bought the game about a year and a half ago. The game is difficult and it will take you a long while before you've figures most things out; I remember having trouble just unloading troops from a ship! But it is sooo satisfying at times. Crushing your foes, assassinating a political enemy, conspiring against your liege, a good marriage etc. It's awesome when your schemes come together.

These two AARs are probably the best I've read:

    We Can Not Sow
It's pretty funny and also pretty informative. It depicts an Icelandic/Norse start.

    Release the Kraken!
This is probably one of the best AARs out there, especially if you like GoT. It's already been mentioned in this thread, though.

This was what made me buy it. Never managed a fall from grace quite as bad as happened here though. Still it's one of the best AAr's I've read. Think it was mentioned here once or twice too.

Argh.. the new patch ruined my savegames of my Byzant/Roman playthrough. Every character with the born in purple trait got blinded.

Should be fixable, if you take the time. Partially that is why I like Paradox games, easy to modify them if you need to.

Open the save file. Find the number for 'blinded' and change it to 'born in the purple'

Assuming the numbers haven't changed since March:

    Old trait numbers:
    122 blinded
    123 born_in_the_purple

    Guess at new trait numbers:
    123 blinded
    124 born_in_the_purple

I haven't played in a couple of months, but Paradox must've added a trait before 122, shuffling the others up one rank. I'm surprised that PI didn't fix the save files in the patch.

    Open your save in Notepad+
ctrl-f for " 123 ". Note the spaces on each side. Check that you're changing the 'trait' figure, and replace it with " 124 ".

If my computer can run the demo, do you think the full game will be fine?

If your machine won't run it, you're overdue an upgrade by about eleven years.

But if it can't and you do have to upgrade, I'm pretty sure once the game files are on a drive you can play it without reinstalling. I've never actually installed it on my new PC. I just run the .exe in its directory from a backup drive. Game works fine. Same story with laptop.

But still, your comp not being able to handle it is unlikely, so get crusade-kinging. I can run CK2 on my home PC through fucking Teamviewer when I'm at work, with barely any lag at all. Yes, Teamviewer. The RD software that struggles with over-ambitious .gifs. It doesn't break a sweat over CK2.

Ran into a title problem, could not really find the issue on the web, I am hoping someone can recommend something. (I can of course edit the save games, but would prefer to avoid it).
I am playing a Aragon, and for a log while I had one son and four daughters. My wife died recently and I remarried, and got a new son (King is over 50 years old). However, I cannot assign any titles except a county title to my heir, however I could assign any titles to my new son. Any ideas?

You're in Gravelkind succession. Basically it's there to stop you from manipulating it so the first son get's everything. I.E giving him that spare duchy you have, and conveniently stopping the second son getting a power base to launch a claim from.
Depending on how high your crown authority is, you'll want to change to elective or the one that favors the first son. Elective's better IMO because of the +30 vassal bonus and keeping them happy enough to vote for who you want isn't too hard. But yeah, dealing with that is a core part of the early game but Elective makes it pretty easy to get a good king.

Another problem you might be having is that you can't disinherit your first son by giving him a bishopric - not in gavelkind and not in primogeniture. You can give your 2nd, 3rd, and so on sons a bishopric, but never your first.

Like Brukel said.. it there to prevent misuse of Gravelkind. Change the Crown Law, get free investiture(and make the second son bishop.. could be difficult because he has to be of age) or kill one of your sons if you want to prevent you demesne from getting split.
