Mostly in regards to Titus who has tunneled me in MafiaScum marathon games before I post anything for the reason I haven't drawn scum yet. She started that again this game. Therefore based on that and other non DLP players doing the same I assume others would respond like that as well.

@Rubicon: For as much as my win con can change on a moment's notice I think once or twice is the most it will happen if at all. My win con changing is outside of my control but is dependent on others. My guess is the bastard part may be it won't change. My gut says my role is more about letting others have fun. :)

Some combination of his low post count, the way he seems to be hanging in the background, and a lack of scumhunting.

I was trying to figure out why she was asking me those questions and voting me. For context, here is what fontisian said about me in our last game together: "Rubicon likes to open games by saying something too stupid to possible be true, in order to get the game going and judge reactions." So I was confused by why she would be confused about me doing the same thing.

The explanation that she thought I was bussing you (i.e. you are my scum partner and I was awkwardly distancing myself from you) is plausible, though.

Hm, well I can see how this would rub you wrong but game days are pretty long and you would be able to respond when you got back online.

    That post was great.

It's moderately easy to tell if it gets down to 4/5 players, which is why I said end-game.

If that's the case then what is your win condition now?

Well, ultimately the game is about winning, and the scenario I outlined is the best possible case for a survivor because it makes you the kingmaker.

I have a pretty dim view of first day lynches. They tend to be more about guesswork and vague hunches, making hitting scum a 50/50 chance at best (derps excluded). Therefore I'd rather eliminate one claimed threat to town early on so that when we get to the lynches where we actually have information to use we're not distracted by the looming threat of a survivor.

That's just a standard survivor too. If you have any abilities you're not telling us about that too can screw with us at potentially important points as well.

I'm not sure if this is viable evidence due to the way this game was set up. People got to request their roles for this so I don't find it unlikely that some requested to be scum/town/independent.

That said, this is something to keep in mind.

As I explained above it is in our best interests to get rid of any independents early because they are distractions and threats that are better eliminated before we get into the mid/end-game, when they can seriously mess with things.

That said, I do prioritise scum over third parties. If we find a probable scum member before lynch time we should kill them first, but if not I'd recommend lynching Mathblade. Better to kill a claimed non-town than risk killing town on a guess. Lurkers can be replaced and a no lynch is a waste when we have Mathblade's own word that she isn't town.

    1) Not sure because it's been a while since my last game. Can't remember who is a decent player and who isn't, at least amongst the players I don't know very well. Fontisian would be on the list though, probably Titus too.

    2) [REDACTED] Get your own guide to independence, scum.

    3) Mostly by lynching them.

Or, y'know, not, if you and fonti had hashed out some agreement that I was indeed scum and then managed to convince the rest of the town/true scum/neutrals-in-hiding to join the wagon and fast-track a lynch on me while I was sleeping.

That would be almost proof of scum on their part. Nobody quick lynches when days are this long unless they have something to hide.

We wouldn't do that to you Zen.

Closer to deadline, if you keep being scummy, maybe.

Aekiel, I think you ignored a question I asked you.

What do you think of the following players?

    Zenzao

    Citrus

Alright Zenzao, tell me what you think about Kalas and Aekiel.

Anything that gives you a clue about their alignment?

If you're not really sure to make a judgement, anything noteworthy about their posts?

If not, is it noteworthy that there isn't anything noteworthy?

    1. You and Von.

    2. I hope there are zombies. I'm not sure that's a thing but if you can have arsonist-jesters and survivors and such, you might as well have zombies.

    3. Clearly we need to ask politely and guilt scum into raising their hands and lining up. Third parties should undergo a conversion.

Also Zenzao, chin up. A wise mentor of mine once said that you can almost always talk yourself out of a lynch if you work at it. She may have been slightly biased due to being really good at this though.

I'm not taken anything for granted any longer, Aekial. Trying to do so backfired spectacularly already.

Kindly refrain from calling me Zen, thanks. I don't appreciate the sniper scope you have trained on the front of my head.

So far as I remember through the end of yesterday and without double-checking what I've read through today, I'm not feeling any scumvibes off of Kalas or Aekiel, and I'm more inclined to trust them as near-positive townies, although Aekiel has played both sides of the fence before.

I disagree for two reasons. Scum get lynched on day one all the time. It's not random guesswork because scum play differently and sometimes it's obvious who is town. Trying to lynch scum is almost as valuable as succeeding because it puts the scum on the defensive, requires everyone to scumhunt, creates more interactions to analyze later, etc.

Focusing on a neutral is a way for you to avoid scumhunting.

Rubicon, given that PoD has all of one post in this game and little to no experience (IIRC) in this forum, what made you ask about him? He doesn't seem to fit in that list.

I actually don't entirely disagree with that statement.

Fine. Either or. I associate Zen with Lyrium/Sloth from Survivor(IE the only games I've had fun in this forsaken sub-forum :|).

What made Survivor so fun ZZ?

And Rubicon, what exactly were you looking for in an analysis of those names? That answer looks like your question was just convenient filler that looks like scum hunting.

Don't be silly. It goes without saying that I'm scumhunting, just as every other town player is. Also, you did read the paragraph after that, right? The one where I say that lynching scum is preferable, but that if we don't have a good idea of who is scum then it's better to take the safe option and not risk accidentally lynching town.

We have a confirmed non-town here, so in absence of other factors it is optimal for us to lynch them instead of risking town. Other factors considered, if we don't have a better (read: scum) target then lynching Mathblade is optimal because she is not town. It's still a win for town if we lynch her because our goal is to lynch all non-town. It's as simple as that.

The varied games, the politics of the situation and working with players I could implicitly trust early on, and the bonds of victory we shared when our team won a round. Zeit ran a very tight ship that worked out great. On the other hand, having to form alliances that I knew I couldn't stay true to without violating early alliances sucked every time one cropped up. I wonder if Rep/Cracked are still fuming over that.
