If there's still room in the EU campaign, I should be free for that, I think.

Glad to have you. Part of the reason for doing this is to introduce new players to D&D. As long as you are willing to put some effort into learning the basics, it should be no problem. I'll message you this weekend so we can find a time to go over the character creation. If you want to take a look at the rules beforehand just hop onto the discord and look at the pins.
Yup, with you we are five. Same thing as above, I'll message you this weekend. If you want to start creating your character before that just pm me so we can find a time to roll your stats.

Just figured I'd check in here, I'll be on the EU team barring unforeseen commitments getting in the way. I made some joke about being a death cleric so I could be Morta's Priest & it's kind of growing on me.

How do y'all feel about people listening in to the campaigns assuming they're quiet?

I probably won't but some might like to and from what I've heard that can be a source of contention.

After 3-4 sessions I'm planning on asking the players if they are comfortable with streaming. I'll be recording and posting videos from the outset, but actual streaming depends on what players are comfortable with.

I presume voice only is fine? I don't care if I make a fool of myself verbally but I'm not sure I want to be on camera for it. ;)

Discord roles can be modified so that people can join voice chats but cannot unmute themselves. Its pretty popular among streamers and youtubers I imagine we can get something like that setup for people on discord?

Done. Everyone can still talk in the general channel though.
I also added campaign specific roles. That way you can just @ that group if something comes up.

    Arthellion Campaign: The Lost Mines
    Session 1

The Sword Coast. A land of mystery, magic, and adventure. It is a land of both opportunity...and danger. Gods look down with interest as they play their divine games. Magic is a wondrous art to be practiced, or a power to be controlled.

It is a world of fantasy and marvelous creatures. The major cities of Neverwinter, Waterdeep and Baldur’s Gate act as bastions of civilization, but the further one travels...the more dangerous the land becomes. Tribes of orcs and goblins rove the land and threaten traveling caravans. But there are darker forces than these at work..

The city of Neverwinter is where we begin our tale. Neverwinter is a city of craftsmen, who trade extensively with the other cities of the Sword Coast. It gained its name from the skill of its gardeners, who contrived to keep flowers blooming even in the harshest winters. For centuries, Neverwinter has acted as a beacon of hope to those travelers and adventurers who need rest from the dangers of the outside world.

But that hope is now threatened. Long known as the most democratic of the three cities, Neverwinter’s Council of Lords recently passed a motion cementing Duke Alston Alagondar and his line as the permanent High Dukes of Neverwinter. In effect, turning Neverwinter into a monarchy. It is unknown what repercussions this will have on the world, but such weighty matters are not our concern. Instead, our adventure begins, as so many do, in a school.

Four young adventurers, senior students of the Prestigious Neverwinter Academy, and one of their many instructors, an elven druid, stand in a courtyard. Though they have seen each other in passing, this is the first time this group has interacted with each other beyond a classroom setting. Adventures, please introduce and describe yourselves to your fellows.

Tylthanenys: She is an elven druid and an instructor of the Academy. She is a thin looking elven woman.

Sarkhan: He is a pale white skinned tiefling.
Johnny: He's a tall human with worn clothing.

Rassan: He is a dark skinned man from a far off land.

Bilbo: He is a short halfing (duh).

Their conversation is interrupted by the sound of steps walking across the marble courtyard and each of them see a familiar figure.. Long robes and grey hair adorns his stooped form, but power emanates with every step. He is known among the Sword Coast as the slayer of the Dread Beast, the founder of Neverwinter Academy, the Master of Maritime Magic, and the Savant of Canon...but to each of them he is simply...Headmaster Taure.
The headmaster stares at each of you with a knowing twinkle in his eyes. He speaks in a soft, yet powerful tone,

“Bilbo, Rassan, Johnathan, Tylthaenys, Sarkhan. I have watched each of you grow over the past two years and it is finally time to send you out into the wider world. It is for this purpose I founded this academy so long ago. To train and send mighty adventurers to do great deeds. Prepare yourselves for a long and arduous adventure for tomorrow morning you are to meet the dwarf Gundren Rockseeker and his companion, Sildar Hallwinter, at the front gates and assist them in their travels to the Village of Phandalin. They have contracted the Academy for an important task."

“Each of you should have your basic equipment waiting for your in your rooms, healing potion, and 50 gold pieces each. You are all now dismissed, save for Johhnny and Tylthanenys, there is something I must discuss with you both..”

The rest of the party leaves and Taure instructs Tylthaenys to meet him in his office. He turns to Johnny:
"Johnny, your father is quite ill come with me please."

Johnny silently follows Taure to the medical wing. Taure tells Johnny that his father is sick with a rare illness known as the "Spider's Kiss." The older man is pale and has black veins running along his face. Johnny spends the rest of the evening with his father.

Taure returns to his office where he tells Tylthaenys that he is growing old and to watcher over the students. He tells her that there are rumors of an elven tribe that might be her old one near where they are traveling.

Rassan attempted to fllow Taure and Johnny and he knows that Johnny's father is in the medical wing. He goes to bed and has a dream about a black spider biting into the neck of a dwarf.

Sarkhan meets with his retainers, Alston (a gnome historian), Valna (A merchant woman), and Oriax, his young squire. Oriax is exuberant and travels with Sarkhan.

Bilbo returns to his room and finds a letter asking him to meet at an inn. He gets there and finds his cousin, a young hobbit named Eicey. The two of them catch up and Bilbo notices that Eicey looks pale and has some dark veins around her neck. He learns that his uncle is in town visiting the Duke. They are interrupted by his uncle and the older hobbit offers Bilbo a warning before walking off with Eicey. Eicey gives bilbo a drawing of when they were younger.

Next morning, the party meets with Gundred and Sildar.

Gundren tells the party that he's discovered something "big" and he needs them to escort a wagon of mining supplies to barthen in phandalin. He and Sildar are leaving to move on ahead and meet the party in Phandalin.

The party discusses the Spider's Kiss and and illness. Bilbo goes to one of his old criminal contacts but is warned away from investigating further. The party gets supplies and heads out on the road.

On the road, after several days of travel, they discover two dead horses. The horses belonged to Sildar and Gundren.

They notice several goblins attempting to sneak up on them and engage them in battle. The battle is fierce, but the party survives. The party then began traveling along a narrow trail, and, after beating several traps, find the entrance to a cave.

Bilbo scouts ahead and finds two goblins "flirting." He returns to the party and he and rassan stealth into the treats to take the creatures down. They kill the Goblins in one round.

    Session end.

    Campaign 2: The Frostmaiden

    INFORMATION
    GM: @lopeck
Playtime: Saturdays at 4pm GMT (Usually)
    Stream Link: TBD

    STORY SETTING:
Freezing wind sweeps across the tundra, ceaselessly battering anything that dares to grow or breathe in its domain. Even the summer, when the days stretch interminably long, the sun blazing low in the midnight sky, brings no respite from the chill. During the rest of the year, sudden storms bring driving hail or sleet that leaves everything coated in a sheath of ice, or they bring snow that piles in deep drifts.

    This is Icewind Dale.

Of course, no region of the Forgotten Realms is without its people. Human tribes follow the reindeer herds through their annual migrations. Dwarves dig into the earth to find shelter from the biting wind, mining for iron and forging weapons and armor. And one can't forget the Ten Towns, shining beacons of civilization in these untamed lands. If you count fishers and scrimshaw carvers, huddled together in small groups of wooden houses, civilized that is.

The dale is also a fine place to escape notice and stay out of the reach oft he law of the southern cities. Many of the people who come to Icewind Dale are outcasts, fugitives, or pariahs in search of a place where they can be tolerated, if not accepted. Which is where our cast of colorful characters comes in.

After their last contract in Luskan became far to complicated far to quickly, and their employer refused to pay them for such a shoddy job done, they decided to let tempers cool off. Guarding a caravan that brings supplies up north sounded like just the thing they needed. Now, a month in, trekking up and up and up the slopes of the spine of the world, those feelings might have changed...

    Players
    Ash (@awinarock):
    Human Fighter
After an unfortunate accident at a young age killed most of his home town he decided to become a soldier. Good pay, stable job, and honest work caving in Orc skulls sounded like just the thing he needed.

    Jank Mayfly(@Roarian):
    Human Death Cleric
Having been cursed with a disease that none of the local temples could heal, he took took to wandering alone. After finding a temple to the Raven Queen, and studying her teachings for years, he managed to cleanse himself of the disease. He now travels the land looking for the origin of the corruption to cleanse it from the world.

    Naram Shadowsong (@Mestre):

    Half-Elf Warlock
As a promising young mage he got picked by the Blackstaff to be one of his apprentices. Unfortunately while he was talented he was also lazy. So instead of putting in the work he summoned a deamon to do it for him. Thrown out of the tower for such a foolhardy action, he now seeks any way to appease his new mistress.

    Orfantal (@Shinysavage):
    Tiefling Wild Magic Sorcerer
As a young man he was almost hanged by a lynchmob. Fortunately for him the Red Riders, a well known group of mercenaries, were in town. They intervened before things got to out of hand and took him on a a squire. His magical talents manifested during a rather brutal battle, killing not just the enemy but many of his allies.
He is now both looking for answers to hi powers as well as enough gold to pay off his debts to the riders.

    Valerion (@Paradise):
    Half-Elven Barbarian
After an Orc hoard threatened his home town he enlisted in the army. After two bloody years the war was over. But having become quite adept at fighting, and not knowing any other trade, he looked to other regions of the world where conflict is still brewing.

First Session will be September 15th, 2019 at 5pm GMT. This session will be recorded, but not streamed.

    Arthellion Campaign: The Lost Mines
    Session 2
The story continues as the party loots the bodies of the goblins. They find only rusted scimitars and shoddy leather armor. The trail leads into what appears to be a cave network. The party decides to send Bilbo and Rassan in to scout considering their excellent work so far. Unfortunately, they fail to account of the darkness and Bilbo and Rassan are stumbling in the dark. They hear snarls, but before they can turn around, Bilbo steps on the foot of a wolf.

The wolf lashes out and it's claws slash across Bilbo's torso, causing the halfling to fall unconscious. The rest of the party rushes in to assist. The wolves are chained, but one of them breaks free to attack Johnny who is able to hold the creature off. Rassan uses one of his healing potions and pulls Bilbo out of the way of one of the creatures.

The party, after much toil, manages to slay the wolves. Oriax casts dancing lights, providing light for the party. Within the small cave the wolves were inhabiting, there is a large chimney. Rassan hears what sounds to him to be pleasant voices. Bilbo listens more closely and realizes they might not be that friendly. He over hears one shout:

"All Hail the mighty moderator Xipho."

Bilbo has no clue who this is. It is irrelevant.

The party continues down the cavern and sees a bridge overhanging. A goblin walks across the bridge. Suddenly, a flood rushes down the cave and the party barely manages to avoid being swept away. The Goblin notices the party and yells out a warning. A second flood hits and several party members are flushed out of the cave.

Bilbo manages to kill the Goblin with his bow however. Rassan rushes ahead and is followed by Johnny who slays one of the in coming goblins. The party reaches a large cavern and sees two huges empty pools, apparently where the flood had come from.

They continue forward and notice a large group of goblins and a bugbear hiding. Combat begins! The leader of the goblins, the bugbear named Klarg yells out insults. They're dumb and stupid.

The party engages the enemy. The bugbear is ripped and nearly kills Johnny with on strike, but he is healed by other party members. Oriax rushes forward and casts bravery on Johnny, preventing him from being frightened and giving him extra health.

Klarg, seeing this puny tiefling, swings his morningstar and watches as it slams into Oriax's head (Natural 20!) and the young tiefling is instantly killed. The party is enraged and proceeds to attack ferociously. They manage to kill the Bugbear and the rest of the goblins.

Johnny loots the Bugbear and finds two healing potions, a key, and 15 gold. The key goes to a nearby chest and Johnny finds a jade frog statuette.

Bilbo notices that there is the markings of the Lion Coasters trade guild located on some of the supplies. It looks stolen. The party takes the supplies.

The party is saddened by the death of Oriax; especially Rassan who had taken a liking to the kid. The party buries the kid outside and takes a short rest before continuing into the caves. They come across a final group of goblins in a large room and a bound prisoner the party kills the goblins and the prisoner is revealed to be Sildar Hallwinter.

Sildar thanks the party for saving him and tells them that Gundren has been taken to a place known as Cragmaw Castle on the orders of one known as the Black Spider. He tells the party that Gundren has a map to the location of Wave Echo Cave.

Bilbo remembers his history classes and tells the party about Wave Echo Cave.
More than five hundred years ago, clans of dwarves and
gnomes made an agreement known as the Phandelver’s
Pact, by which they would share a rich mine in a wondrous
cavern known as Wave Echo Cave. In addition to its
mineral wealth, the mine contained great magical power.

Human spellcasters allied themselves with the dwarves
and gnomes to channel and bind that energy into a great
forge (called the Forge of Spells), where magic items could
be crafted. Times were good, and the nearby human town
of Phandalin (pronounced &/7-duh-lin) prospered as well.

But then disaster struck when ores swept through the
North and laid waste to all in their path.

A powerful force of ores reinforced by evil mercenary
wizards attacked Wave Echo Cave to seize its riches and
magic treasures. Human wizards fought alongside their
dwarf and gnome allies to defend the Forge of Spells, and
the ensuing spell battle destroyed much of the cavern.

Few survived the cave-ins and tremors, and the location of
    Wave Echo Cave was lost.

Sildar tells the party that he is looking for his contact, Iarno Albreck in Phandalin and offers to pay them to escort him to the town. The party agrees as they are headed that direction anyways with the cart.

They return to the wagon and find someone rifling through the contents of the cart.

It is Bilbo's cousin, Eicey Goodbarrel.

Given that I am playing Sarkhan and Oriax is my characters squire and cousin, I decided to write up an actual letter, just to give a bit more character to him. And its quite the work of art, if I do say so myself.

Keep in mind absolutely none of this is true in the slightest.

Well... it's more true than not, to be fair. Aside from the fact Oriax died without killing, or even attacking, the mentioned goblin, after helping Johnny. Also, I don't recall if you even touched it before Johnny's super critical hit kill on it. :p

That, and potentially your depth of concern over Oriax, hah.
