One of the most craziest mangas currently out with 4 million readers online and 1.5 million volumes in circulation it is currently one of the best manga's in Japan and may even be made into an anime in a few years.


Written by Yukinobu TATSU, if you've read the crack-fueled craziness that is Chainsaw Man and currently undergoing withdrawal as you salivate over the upcoming date when the Chainsaw Man anime releases and part 2 of the manga. This is the manga for you.


Recommended by Fujimoto(author of Chainsaw Man) Yukinobu TATSU is actually his assistant who worked on Fire Punch and Chainsaw Man. And you can definitely see Fujimoto's influences in DANDADAN!


The plot: Momo Ayase is a tomboy who likes hardboil guys like Takakura Ken and believes in ghosts and Okarun is a friendless nerd who believes that Aliens exist.


The two argue about their beliefs and make a deal with each other to visit a haunted spot and a place where aliens were sited to prove to each other that one exists and the other doesn't.


Except turns out both ghosts and Aliens exist! Momo gets kidnapped by aliens and Okarun gets cursed by a ghost but thanks to a powerup and Okarun's cursed state their able to defeat and escape the aliens. Starting their beautiful friendship and possible love life.


When I say this series is crazy I mean it. It's like Yukinobu took a look at his mentor snorting cocaine and writing Chainsaw Man and thought 'I could top that' before smoking some crack and writing DANDADAN!


In this story you have:


-Old ass granny


-Hot ass granny


-Looking for Golden Balls(yes the reproductive kind.)


-Aliens that want to steal your dick


And more.


There's also the art, as the series wouldn't be as good as it is if it didn't have a good style to match with the crazy events that take place. And oh boy is the art good, here's an example.

And even in basic panels there's an amazing amount of expression. Really helped by the characters and the dialogue. Momo is the rough tomboy with a soft side and Okarun is the shy nerd/hidden badass and both play off and joke around with each other amazingly well.


This is something that also appears with other characters the story introduces later.


And there's almost never a slow moment simply due to how crazy the story starts and goes on.


Though that doesn't mean the author can't slow down for development purposes. I don't want spoil. But theirs a character whose backstory is introduced entirely silent, no dialogue, just illustrations until the end and it's fucking amazing, reading it felt like I was watching a silent scene from a movie or show. The amount of emotion simply put in the art is really something.


So if you want a story like Chainsaw Man with great characters, crazy events, break-neck pacing, raunchy jokes and hilarity then read this manga!

Though if you put a gun my head and tell me to say something bad about this story. Then I would say that I feel like alien and ghost representation in the manga is unequal. Sure we had arcs featuring aliens, but most of the plot seems to actually been driven by the supernatural part of the story.
