Hi, all.

I've been looking for some dark-ish novel length fics. I'm tired of the peace-hippy sh*t all over ff.net and I came here to DLP to find stories with a Harry who actually finds some balls or already has some. Ever since I read the Denarian trilogy...

I'm looking for fics where Harry is not terribly afraid to use Dark Magic - preferably ones where it's his primary form of magic - and stories that capture the gritty, dark-ish feel of war.

By novel-length I mean anything with 40k+ words, and the longer, the better.

I don't care for pairings but please try to avoid 100% fluff filled 12 year old love stories. Those make me retch.

I've looked through The Alternates and Dark Arts, but it seems some stories should be in both categories and it's a pain to go through so many pages over and over to find something...

Of JBern's tics, To Fight the Coming Darkness is particularly gritty iirc, and definitely had the war elements since that's what you're looking for.
