So I'm reading Pokemon 0 (decent so far) and I got to wondering, are there any Pokemon fics out there that have the protagonist join the bad guys? Of course they'd have to be an original team, or at least a canon one with altered goals so they're at least rational, but I've never read a decent Pokemon fic along the same lines as the many Dark!Harry fics we have here.

Anyone found any? Preferably well written ones.

 

Dunno if you know, but as far as I remember a large portion of half-decent Pokemon fanfics are dark. However, you'll be trudging through dog-eat-dog fics where it's just wild animals eating cute animals for a while to find anything dark that has humans as main characters.

If I wasn't so lazy, I'd link you to serebii.net's completed fics section, or tvtrope's pokemon reccomendations page. Both have what you're looking for.

Here's the link. But a lot of fics there are total waste of time. Of course not at the ffnet's lvl but still it'll take some time for you to find something good and enjoyable.

 

You misunderstand. I mean dark as in the protagonist is a genuine bad guy with not so nice motivations. If Ash had joined Team Rocket for instance.

If it's any interest to you, I've been writing a Pokemon story where Gold creates what is essentially a villainous team in order to topple the monarchy and government of Kanjoh. He hides behind a seemingly benevolent purpose, but his actions are more fueled with greed for power and a desire for revenge.

I don't plan to post that one on DLP for a while yet, though.
