Title: Dashed Hopes, and Good Intentions
    Author: catsintheattic
    Rating: M
Genre: Drama/Tragedy (I'd also add Horror)
    DLP Category: General
Pairing: noncon Albus Severus/Ginny and Molly/Ginny
    Status: Oneshot
Summary: A Quidditch accident. A silent daughter. A loving mother. A lonely son. Desperate measures on all sides of the equation. Dreams and nightmares that won't stay put. Written for HP Darkfest 2009. This story is dark. Please regard the warnings in the header.

This story is strange. The outrageous pairings are done realistically, something that doesn't seem at first to be possible. The characterizations are top mark particularly Molly's. That being said I'm not sure if DLP will like it and for that matter I'm not even sure if I like it. But it is written well and it appears that the author has achieved her intended effect with this.

    5/5

It was excellent. Well-written, perfect characterization and very deep...

...yet extremely disgusting and serves no other purpose than being depressing.

3/5 because, while I didn't like it, the author very clearly hit the mark and accomplished what he set to do, IMO.

Without reading it, Ginny is paired with both a 20 year old and a 70+ year old? I'm trying to get my mind around this, but I can't so I guess I got to read it.

    Sounds like Intoxication to me.

Well written, but did not want.

Yeah, I appreciate the Ginny bashing, but generally humans, wizards or muggles alike, don't survive 100 meter falls. I suppose having Harry's babies turned her like that iron mutant from the X men?

In all seriousness, I'm not impressed when all manner of angst and despair is unleashed by a random run-of-the-mill accident. She fell off her broom, subsequently gets paralyzed. Easily interchangeable with her eating a tainted Weasley Wheeze candy or some shit like that and falling into a coma.

If someone can write this competently, I'd prefer they'd write something less fail.

Angst for the sake of angst must be discouraged.

    2/5.

It's very well written, but I didn't enjoy it in the slightest. Angst has a place, but angst for the sake of angst leaves a nasty taste in the mouth - essentially, this is little more than a kill-off fic with pretensions of intelligence and maturity, and no amount of quality writing can hide that.

2.5/5 for the fic, but I can't give it a three for the thread, so two it is.

The reason that I recommended this was because of the excellent ending. The initial angst and accident I felt were simply a vehicle for the incestuous finale.

As to Andro's point I can't argue of the realism of a bludger to the head causing Locked-in Syndrome, but people have been known to survive falls of 100 meters or greater. By hitting a tree, Ginny could have slowed her impact velocity on the tree's branches enough to have survived the crash.
