Ok, it doesn't look like a copy of the book brought to life (I'm fairly certain I saw an army of Uruk Hai in there at one point...), but you know what? It looks good. It might not be in the end, of course, but I'm hopeful. I'd far rather have a good film than a completely faithful adaptation.

 

This looks a lot better than I expected. Here's hoping the awesome bits in the trailer and the only ones...

I wonder what the odds are on this catching Avatar for highest grossing film? I wouldn't be at all surprised if it takes the crown from Cameron here in the UK. Worldwide... probably not.

 

Fuck that was good. I don't even care if some scenes aren't from canon, they are still awesome. The one thing they're doing good is making Snape stand out a bit, which I really liike.

The one odd thing I noticed was that flower growing in Lily's(?) hand. Didn't look real enough.

Oh, and fuck 3D. I seriously don't think this can be good in 3D.

 

The trailer looked amazingly good, if this will apply to the whole movie has yet to be seen.

 

If we are talking about repeating things in trailers, I'm surprised that it doesn't have Sirius/Lupin (can't recognize which one) screaming "Harry!" at the end of it. As far as I remember almost all trailers for 6th movie and 7th part 1 have it.

 

Two things I forgot to put in my post before.

Does anyone think Petunia's actor looks too, uh... normal, for the zebra head we see in PS?

Secondly, Narcissa looks better than she did in part one of DH.

He was the only one that I can remember that self-terminated by his own casting. I can't remember what I was looking up, but page led to page, and I ended up on a site that talked the fiendfyre scene in the movie. Apparently, Crabbe's actor was caught with drugs and that's the reason why he won't be in that scene.

Thing is, I know a bunch of people who like to reread the books before seeing the movie, which to me at least, seems like a bad plan as most movies tend to deviate. I'm going to enjoy their heckling and angry shouts just because this was a semi-legitimate reason to completely change up a scene; compared to the numerous movies that just seem to do it on a whim.

The idea of Crabbe doing community service just seems humorous to me.

 

I think the trailer is epic and I cannot wait for the movie.

The effects look just incredible. You could tell that they spent fucking massive amounts to film this movie.

It is suppose to be a long battle between Voldemort and Harry. I heard that by the end, they are desperation to kill each other with any way possible. The fighting is also a way to show how the Castle is falling apart and the fighting that is all around them

I think my heart will break when I see Hogwarts crumble.

I'll be perfectly honest... I am so going to the midnight showing.

 

To be honest, when I was reading the seventh book I had never got the impression of Hogwarts ruined. Damaged, sure. Ruined though?

Maybe it was a case of reading it in one sitting from 12am to whateverthefucktimeAM...

 

Seems like they went overboard with the only thing that makes the movies still worth it to watch: Special Effects.

Seriously, the magical scenes in the trailer looked awesome.

 

Why do Voldemort and Harry kneel when dueling with each other? It looks really dumb.

Other than that, epic. Can't wait.

 

After watching that, I just realized that I haven't watched any HP movies since OotP. Might wanna catch up on that...
