    DLP Supporters,

Thank you for your outpouring of support for December 2008. We were coming up on the billing date (January 7th) with barely $50 to our account, and in a matter of two days managed to make up the shortfall and extra. This extra has been rolled over into the January 2009 account, which is now showing on the donation tracker. Thank you all for your amazing support this month.

Hopefully we can establish a slightly less urgent schedule in the future, through use of the Paypal tracker I've designed, which sports the colorful donation messages DLP has adopted. By no means are you obligated, however it is always greatly appreciated when you donate. We're working on a proper way to reward users who support DLP, until then we can provide a usergroup which has some relaxed restrictions on such things as avatar size and PM boxes, along with a donor's star in your posts. Eventually this will mean linking of PatronusCharm accounts for extra benefits and perhaps DLP email addresses.

If you have any ideas for such rewards, feel free to PM them to me.

Again, thank you all for your support. December 2008 is a wrap.

Yeah, it is honesty nice to see a community that actually cares enough to help support it via actual money.

    Kudos to all that donated.

    Actual money?

Please. I donated Canadian Tire money to both here and the Catholic church. Stick that in your donation box and smoke it.

I always said once I had some money to spare I'd throw it your way.

Did the server cost per month go down recently? I thought they use to be in the $250 range

No, it's been $219 since we moved to a more expensive server to handle DLP's increasing traffic.

Google Ads denied our appeal. Yahoo Ads was disinterested. I'll figure out something unobtrusive to supplement donations.

Why wouldn't they want to put ads on our site? I would think a lot of DLP users would want to click on links just to get the whatever amount of money out of that to support the website.

It seems since you put the donate box in the corner, people have been donating enough. I'd donate, but I don't have money to donate.

Can't remember who exactly it was but someone took the time to click the link a couple hundred times in a row... That's against the rules unfortunately, so Google Ads decided to cut us off.

Still good job to those who donated. I would have myself but I'm pretty much in dire straits money-wise at the minute ¬_¬.

I actually prefer us running of donations, and just having no adds too be honest.

While I agree, adds would definitely be more practical, its nice to have an add free website.

And, I love the donation meter. The random messages made me laugh quite a few times.

I too would love to donate, but my financial situation isn't the best.

We do need another image though:

A possible idea to keep the amusing images up is to have a contest and then add the ones that you like into the mix Raven.
