I'm only a pairing whore to a degree. A bad pairing will always break a story in my eyes, but a good one won't always make one. There are many, many Harry/Cho stories out there that I won't read because they're absolute shit. I'm not so rabid that I'll cream my trousers over anything that sails my ship.

Same, much as I'd prefer to read H/B, H/N I can read just about anything if its well written, I've yet to find a H/G that garnered any praise though( and as such I've given up looking ).

True... I abhor H/G, but when there just so happens to be a very good fic which is H/G, I can overlook it. But only when it's insanely good (or at least in my book), else it's into the trashbin you go!

But meh. So far, only Bobmin's fics were at that level, and even those aren't looking as good anymore, so meh again.

Theoretically, I guess I could get over HG, if the story is extremely good.

The problem is, I don't really remember the last time some story was good enough to overlook the beastilary pairing.

Err.. any suggestions? Yes I know all the clasics, but H/G stories from the last 5-6 months are a black hole to me.

I guess i'm kinda hypocritical, i love sappy romance stories but i HATE when it's "Happily Ever After" endings.

    What about Jeconais new trilogy?

My secret, uhhh i'll read anything, ANYTHING even if it's AD/HP SLASH.
And yes, i'll read through it even if it's done by some random 'SEVERUS AND HARRY IS SOULMATES' fangirl. Argh, alright i'll admit to taking breaks between chapters if it's really badly written.
    Anyone know a Harry/Avery fic? ^^

I have quite a few likes and dislikes in the HP genre.

Like (as long as it's well-written):
    - Evil/Dark Harry that kicks Voldie's ass
    - Snape mentors Harry stories (not the sappy ones)
    - Snape as sadistic, evil bastard on the side of good (Harry's, not necessarily Dumble's)
    - Harry/Hermione in general (but only if written well and Harry isn't an idiot)
    - Alternate pairings (except slash and especially Harry/Draco or Harry/Snape)
    - Independent Harry
    - Super Harry
    - Star Wars crossovers
    - crossovers in general
    - Azkaban stories
    - nearly anything that's well-written (exceptions below)

    Dislike/HATE:
    - Evil Harry that joins with Voldie
    - Voldie suddenly becoming a good guy (I swear I've seen a least 30 of the damned things)
    - Harry/Ginny (hate, Hate, HATE!!!)
    - Voldie as Harry's father
    - Anything that includes HBP canon as the major most recent happenings in the background of the plot
    - Slash (don't have anything against the lifestyle, but I don't want to read about it)
    - James and Lily not Harry's parents (once saw a good one about Sirius being the father though)
    - anything that makes the Weasely twins, Bill, Charlie, and Arthur to be bad guys (they are my favorite characters outside of Harry, Sirius, and Remus)
    - anything that makes Sirius and Remus the bad guys
    - James and Lily come back to life

 I just realized that I don't like the vast majority of HP fanfic out there! I could have sworn I liked more that that.

I have never flamed anyone. I will write out in excruciating detail why the stroy sucks and ways that they can fix it, but I don't say, "Ur story sux ass! U should go 2 hell!" or any such nonsense.

I can't stand Ginny. I can only read her if its REALLY well done. I think sibff story is the only one I can do. (Its VERY good. Probably better than HBP, if the end was changed.)

hm. Darkest of all secrets relating to this site? I read a Harry/Voldemort pairing and liked it. (don't worry, I'm not about to say it wasn't disturbing as hell. I just liked it anyway. Hey, he didn't become "good" and they managed to mess Harry up enough to make it work. I was amazed.)

I read just about anything that is written well, and Harry based. One exception is when Draco suddenly turns "good" or, well, Draco in general. I don't like Draco Malfoy, anything else is easily ignored if it is written reasonably well and realistic.

I can read a slash fic, but only if it's lemoned out/not described in depth and decently written

i really dont like an abundance of fluff, like Abraxan's series of fics, well written and i like it, but goddamn the h/g fluff is killin me.. i hate that soul mate " im yours forever and can come back from the brink of death because you said my name crap".... it sickens me

I read and liked one of those, too. Dark, creepy as anything, and seriously messed up. I read five more like it, and was sad when I ran out. (By the end of the day, actually)

darkest secret in opposition to the theme of DLP?

uhm, i'll browse portkey.org now and again to see if any good stories pop up.

occasionally something decent pops up on their recommendation engine thing.

    occasionally.

I like Dumbledore, he's my favourite character. And I only ususally post when I have something to say, rather than finding something to say for every new thread.

There's a couple things I differ from the rest of the board about....

I'm indifferent about Ginny, basically because she was such a nonfactor in the first 5 and HBP was so bad i erased it from my memory.

I like Hermione, basically because she's the only female character, that has more than one line per book devoted to her, who doesn't annoy the shit out of me, and she's Harry's only real friend.

    I like the odd pairings, H/Bella, H/Tonks, H/OC, etc..

My deepest darkest secret though is that, although it would probably be a terrible story, I want to see just one fic where Harry goes Goku/Vader/Juggernaut and just starts killing everybody(lifting up Malfoy by his neck and choking the life out of him for instance).

I can't really stand stuff with really twisted Harry.

And then Harry pulled out his knife and gutted Ginny watching her entrails pool in a puddle beside her. Then he slit her through and ripped of her head tearing her spine out of her back.

I find stuff like that kinda sick. I also like Dumbledore.
