You can use the in game money too.

 

Well yeah, I have no qualms using in game gold that I earned by playing but gearing your character with real money seems wrong to me.

 

It's an option for the people who want to use it. For those who don't (myself included), there's the regular option house, trading, or just using whatever you find on the field.

 

I don't see how it's wrong for a real-money auction to exist. Money has always been about saving time, so the people who pay get to save time on farming.

Yeah, I dislike it, but I'm not against it unless Blizzard starts generating gear for money auctions.

 

BTW, you could spend real life money on gear in D2 also. It's not like this is anything new. It's just that now Blizzard is getting in on the action.

 

The difference is that one was illegal and easily scammable while the other is perfectly legal and has less security risks.

 

I'm so happy I'm in Europe right now and will get to play it earlier only 5 days and 3 hours to go.

There's no realm restriction, meaning that we could create a cross-realm clan, but it'd be a lot more centralized if it was all on one realm.

Thoughts?

 

I know I'm U.S. East, as far as realms go. I'm not really sure about everyone else.
Also, who else will be starting as soon as the servers are up? Might be fun to get some groups together.

Not to come into this thread blind or anything - but is Diablo 3 worth the buy? I was pretty into Diablo II way back. It's just that I've heard a lot of people complaining about how the online is being handled and whatever. I'm also more interested in story than loot collecting (though only on my first play through).

Just a bit worried about whether it's worth picking up. I didn't really like how Blizzard handled SCII's story, so I'm a bit leery that they're going to mess up Diablo's atmosphere too.

Can anyone who's got early access/ been part of the beta calm my fears?

 

I'll be frank - like in Starcraft 2, the art direction sucks. Badly.

It's practically WoW-esque.

The gameplay, however, was quite fun - but that's just my opinion. I know a lot of people on here do not feel the same way.
