Beginning of act 2 greys are selling for 2-3g each. Such a waste of space.
I didn't notice it being slow at all because I was just excited to be playing but on the second character I definitely noticed how slow it was. I think it was more to do with switching from act 2 to act 1 though. It does pick up and what I like is that there is no "best" spell and I switch out my skills/runes frequently.

Anyway I'm going to get some sleep since I have 0 faith in Blizzard getting this fixed soon. If anyone wants to play tomorrow send me a pm here or friend/message me in game. Good luck to those still playing.

Edit: It's always good news when the status page showing which servers are down is in fact itself down. Well played Blizzard

After 4 separate attempts at installation, I find the game running horribly on my decent hardware, and the enemies teleporting due to lag on server-side as my connection is 15 Mb/s. Seriously disappointed.

Have you guys attempted to run with low graphics? Easier on the crappy servers atm and your computers.

Just strange because I've had minimal lag issues and I wasn't even sure if my computer would be able to run the game smoothly.

Game was fun as hell last night when Skykes, Cleanrag, and I all rolled new characters and ran through as much as we could.

Witch Doctor army spam + Wizard CC + Barbarian tank (We gave Skykes like ALL the Str gear. He had 80~ by lvl 12.) was hilariously strong.

I could play Space Marine with everything on Ultra, so I know it's not my hardware. I tried lowering all the settings to low and I still get 8-10 fps on average with teleporting zombies due to lag.

EDIT: Also, this is at 11:00 AM EST on a wednesday, meaning that the majority of North America is at work or school. I wasn't expecting server load to be that bad when 90% of the players in my region are unable to play.

Just completed the game on normal difficulty. Game runs relatively smoothly, but I have these odd lag spikes every now and then. Apparently, a lot of other people have them, too.

Had really fun so far. Well, time to go grind out the Nightmare, baby =D

I had some bad times in the sewers where the water had reflections, but other then that 0 lag.
Also, grab yourself a helmet with a socket and throw an emerald in it. Gives +5/7/9% experience. Percent-based, not flat, so it essentially makes you level 10% faster.

    edit: Ruby, not emerald.

I haven't had any lag issues whatsoever, but my highest character is only level 12. Wizard feels incredibly weak to start off with compared to the other classes. My Demon Hunter isn't the most powerful, but he can kite pretty much all day with Caltrops, and Hungering Arrow with a Piercing Rune mows down groups pretty quickly. But with my Wizard I'm expected to run into melee range to freeze or use the Shock spell on groups. That seems incongruous, I'm sure it will be better at later levels.

I just finnished normal, and I thought it was very boring, it was SO easy, I didn't have to move at all during bossfights, I could just tank the damage. I can stand in AOE areas (like fire/poison and stuff like that) and get unlimited rage, but barly take any damage at all.

I focus on vitality on my gear, these are my stats atm:

    Level 32

    Str: 247
    Dex: 143
    Int: 122
    Vita: 614
    HP: 6808
    Armor: 1609 (50% damage reduce)
    Damage: 208

    I use these skills:

    Cleave:Rapture
    Rend:Blood lust
    Leap:Iron impact
    Revenge:Vengeance is mine
    Threathening shout:Falter
Call of the ancients:The council rises

    Passives:
Nerves of steel, Pund of flesh, Superstition

    I play EU HC

The scariest moment so far is when I got DCed on the second boss. Twice.

Fighting a creature with the Nightmare subtype and getting pummelled to shit as they swarm you and successively fear you.

Fuck you Belial, Lord of Cheapness.

Just finished act 3 normal. It was epic(The story anyway)

Bosses are pretty easy. It was the same in D2 though. I do think the gameplay on normal is more entertaining than D2.

I've died three times however so far. 2 times to bomber dudes, and once to some guys in act 3 that I underestimated.

    I've been running with

    Frenzy(Triumph)
    Leap (Iron Impact)
    Whirlwind (Dust Devils)
    Rend(Ravage)
    Revenge(Vengeance is mine)
    War Cry

    sit rep, day 2

Played about another 2 hours today, made it up to Leoric, but couldn't kill him. Server was reseting so I called it a night, but he kicked my ass the one try I gave. Zombies kept lagjumping me and I couldn't get away. I'm still not sure if it's my computer or the server. 3gm ram, 2.20 ghz centrino duo, nothing spectacular this decade.

I like the game more now. I unlocked the blacksmith, and I do like that. The 'salvaging' thing reminds me more of Hellgate London than anything else right now, although I suppose it's just a simple, generalized version of WoW's disenchanting and crafting system.

Also, I guess I spoke a bit too soon, as I discovered the TP spell today, which reminds me of the old TP spell books in D1. I guess it's an effort to make the game less cluttered, and I do like how all the items are automatically identified.

I'm still disappointed with the skills so far. Right now, my demon hunter just feels like Miss Fortune from LoL. Rapid fire, kill everything in room. I don't like leveling up and only getting upgrades for skills I don't really have a use for yet.

Again, a big plus is the Lore. I found 5 of Lachdanan's books, and 2 of Leorics, so that was pretty cool. I like how we had to revisit the citadel, but place seemed to drag on forever. Loot was pretty scarce as well, and breaking barrels and stuff seems to be way more hassle than what it's worth as I don't think I've found anything but gold from them so far. Still haven't found anything better than blue quality, and the best item I have so far is pants I made from the blacksmith, which is the only item I have with 3 stats, something like +7 dex, 7 gf, 7 mf, so not bad for a 1/4 chance to get the right stat.
