Meteor Shower + Snowbound Blizzard + Venom Hydra = Fucking awesome nuke to win.

Swap Meteor for Arcane Orb Tap the Source if you want more damage per AP and more consistent DPS in outside areas.

Working my way through act 2 inferno now mostly co-op with my monk friend. He is more or less completely useless vs most elite packs because neither of us have farmed or bought anything significant yet (Although I got a 650 dps weapon which is our only saving grace atm).

So many things to sell and hopefully save up for a great weapon, but the auction house goes down every goddamn day. Plus I try to post at reasonable prices, so I don't earn very much very fast.

Most elite packs are easier to solo than duo, but the monk comes in handy for reflects damage packs because he can heal me a little bit and let me DPS them down a little bit more while waiting on potion cooldowns. He really helps on the really stupid combos by virtue of his 7 second stun (greatly reduced, I'd say 1-2 seconds) on 7 sided strike as well as his various immunities for tanking them for a short while when we run out of kiting room and things like that.

I'm running caltrops w/ immobilize, smokescreen with lingering fog for turning around packs or dodging mortars/leaps/teleports, prep with backup plan, rain of vengeance with stampede because it's really amazing for keeping them off me and has pretty great targeting and isn't reduced by their cc resistance, devouring hungering arrow, and elemental arrow with fear which I can spam. It's only .5 second fear or something but it's AoE and 40% which is a huge proc rate with a very low cost. 1 in 3 shots fears them and I can fire 2 shots a second so between caltrops and the fear, I can kite for days if I have the room.

I had the same issue. Either just press play the moment the button lights up, without letting the launcher fully load... or just restarting your computer seems to solve the problem too.

Is there an easier way to check your battletag than signing onto battle.net? It's so tedious to out my authenticator code in every time.

You can find it in game on the career tab of your profile (press P or click the helmet from the main menu), or in the social panel when you click 'add friend'.

Borderlands is the exact same way. It's why people are still playing Borderlands, even with characters that are at the max level, which I believe is now 81. You can farm a specific respawning boss until you get that perfect weapon for your playstyle, although it's a pain to continuously kill the same guy over and over again, only to have to reload and do it once more.

Randomly generated stats on gear is all well and good, but when it becomes a grind-fest for that perfect weapon, that's when it becomes annoying.

My best friend undercuts hardcore when he finds gear that isn't good for his Barbarian. He told me last night that he sold an item for 70k at the AH, and apparently the same exact item was being sold by someone else for something like 250k.

After the Force Armor nerf, I feel useless. I have to run from half of the elite packs I meet. Inferno, Act 2. 30k hp, 23k damage. Shitty gear, I know. Still, the game is ridiculous. You die in one hit against almost everything. It's not just fun any more.

I know Blizzard intended it this way - the harder Inferno is to farm, the rarer the best gear is, the more valuable it is, therefore going into RMAH with high price. And guess who's getting a cut from every transaction? Yeah. Blizzard doesn't want any class to be able to farm Inferno. Being unable to farm for gear, and the utter shitty randomness of it all, is making me pretty pissed off.

    I miss Diablo 2. =/

Wait. You didn't expect them to take a cut? That's like saying that eBay shouldn't take a cut of the action either.

In both cases, the company provides the service that facilitates money changing hands. In both cases, they have to make money to justify the service's existence.

I did. I heard about it like, a year ago. I was cool with it. I was cool with Inferno being a real challenge, from what I heard, before the game was released. But now, I'm not cool with Blizzard intentionally making the elite packs so hard you can't farm them at all, and and immediately nerfing everything that makes farming said elites possible. Dying in one hit against any of the stronger enemies in the later acts isn't challenging, it's stupidly frustrating.

It's probably the rose-tinted nostalgia glasses speaking, but I infinitely preferred D2's system to this. Making the maximum amount of money is Blizzard's goal right now. Yes, I know that Blizzard is a company and their main goal is always to make maximum profit, but it always ends up cheapening the game experience for me.

Or maybe, when I was a kid playing D2, I just had fun, not giving a shit about anything.

That's why I'm training up a DH for farming now. Being able to blow the crap out of Inferno enemies with a 3300%+ damage burst every 30s~ has to be worth something.

Here is a DH with 120k dps with 44kHP free farming act 3/4 and streaming it with decent commentary. He isn't using any gimmicks, just smokescreen timing, caltrop kiting, and high damage because he has farmed very well. Part of it is amazing gear but he says he slowly moved up from farming act 4 hell to act 1 inferno to act 2 inferno etc etc.

He also has an amazing 1200DPS crossbow with +crit% damage, a total of 250% crit damage and 27% base crit, so he admits it's partly lucking out on the AH or farming really well.

I think the glass cannon builds can get there really quickly, but what's impressive is that he is doing it with 44k HP and some decent resists.

Don't think that HP and resists matter THAT much. On the barbarian forums, I hear people with 60k health, 500+ all resists, 6k armor complaining how they get one-shotted by the stronger mobs.

You still do get one shot, but the difference is you don't get one shot by every random thing that breathes on you. He is living with a couple slivers of HP a lot of the time, and if he didn't have 44k HP, he wouldn't have.
Right now he is explaining why act3 is better than act 4 than farming, using the one shotting terror demons and oppressors that stealth/charge from off screen and kill you before you can react. But while he is farming act 3, he can take a stray spear or two from non elites so he doesn't have to SS every single stray breath.

So yeah, Nephalem's Valor is the greatest thing ever. Every boss I've encountered thus far with a full five stacks has dropped ~5 magics and 3 rares.

    Use it.

Edit: It's also interesting to note that using Nephalem's Valor is superior in every way to stacking MF. There's a hidden bonus to NV that makes bosses drop loot in the quantities stated above.

So who else hates running act 2?

I try and skip that every time once I hit the Zoltun Kulle quests. To me, it's annoying and ridiculously long with crappy mobs to fight against, the Kurast Jungle of D3.
