Funnily enough, the main designers and programers behind Diablo and Diablo 2 actually left Blizzard North and started their own company, FlagShip Studios. The ones who produced Hellgate London. So Blizzard still has the rights, but not the originally main staff behind it. But from the looks of things, that's not stopping them from creating a awesome game.

This looks awesome, definitely going to go buy a couple spare mouses for when it is released. A standard mouse has around 2 to 3 million button click life I think? So thats what, one play through Diablo 2?

    :awesome

D3 is going to be epic. I don't care about the graphics, since Blizzard basically can do no wrong. Even their console games do moderately well. Except Starcraft: Ghost. But that doesn't count, since it never came out.

It does not apply to me but I am just curious as to why they are not allowed?

Dunno... Seems weird that they excluded those particular places. Maybe it would cost too much to fly them out from those places? Or they just don't like them places and doing it for the lulz

I could see that being the case, but then again, if it was for the cost of flight, why on earth would they have North Dakota in the list? Wouldn't it cost just as much to fly to South Dakota, Montana, etc.? The list just seems a bit arbitrary.

...So yeah, probably doing it for the lulz.

Why isn't Alaska on the list if it's based on costs?

It's got nothing to do with costs, and everything to do with those particular places having more-stringent-than-average laws dealing with sweepstakes or commercial sponsered contests or whatever the hell you want to call it.

    Ah. That explains it.

    So...

Anyone want to take a guess at what the min. reqs. are?

With the amount of monsters after you at the same time, the walls exploding and crumbling to dust as you cast your spells and the blood flying across the screen at incredible speeds I would guess you would need at least 1-1,5gb RAM. The graphics are not that great so a usual 2-2,5ghz processor and a geforce 5xxx+ 128/256mb should be be able to handle it with average graphics.

Of course, to fully enjoy the awesomeness that is Diablo III I would rather have a shiny top-of-the-line computer

Top of the line PC not needed. Don't be "that guy" that thinks every time a game comes out you gotta drop a grand or two. The game engine itself is pretty lackluster compared to nearly everything new being thrown out, or even Xbox 360 graphics, it's all about the story and hack and slash fun.

If you can play Titan Quest maxed, you'll be able to play D3 maxed, I'll see if I can dig up the link I read of one of the Alpha testers.

Some new info from the May 9th Conference Call.

Blizzard began internal company-wide testing last week.

The Starcraft 2, Shogun 2, The Witcher 2, Duke Nukem, Mass Effect 3....Someday I will learn not to buy games for 50 dollars when they first come out...because it adds up after a while.

Also, I'm worried about the core-guys from D@ leaving Blizzard, but...it's blizzard! Will buy anyway. Just hope there is the same customizability as there was in D2. Loved those damn tech trees and the freedom they gave you.

Apparently it'll be more customizable this time. Adding elemental damage to skills with gems or something?

You do know that Kotick is the Devil and Activision and Blizzard are the tools he is using to strangle the life out of video gaming, right?

inb4Blizzard charges for multiplayer for this too, and gets almost no one crossing over from D2.
