Personally can't wait for couch co-op on ps4 to reinvigorate the game for me. Looks kinda shitty on current gen though.

So, I've been playing D3 on the xbox since tuesday. The game seems just as crisp as it was on the PC, and the scenes with Imperius are still boss. I honestly think the console port redeems the game, for one reason; there's no auction house. You actually have to play the game, and that is great. It's funny that the lack of a feature can actually improve a game.

Did you play the PC version on max settings? I've seen videos of console version and to me it doesn't match up.

I didn't play it on max, but I don't play games for their graphics, I play them for their gameplay. Whether or not it's up to par for the PC is irrelevant to me, and honestly, playing it on my 50" tv from a couple feet away, I have no complaints about the quality of the graphics.

Lol, you're the one that said it's as crisp as it was on PC, if i bought it based on that i'd have been pissed that that wasn't the case.

Especially considering i play on 110".

Your preference of gameplay over graphics is irrelevant in that case.

Does anyone even play anymore? Lol

Might be a good way for me to waste some time. It's not like I really hated the game, but it didnt really feel like the sequel to diablo 2 (this has nothing to do with them gutting all of my favorite classes and making crappy knock offs in archtypes I don't like). I did like the gold pickup radius, but it isnt worth replacing a real combat stat for.

Heh, so far the game is pretty fun.

Although I do miss having a pack dog (like in Torchlight) to run back to town to dump all my junk.

Lol. I guess they got the feedback about how awesome the console D3 versions actually are, since they don't have the AH. Honestly, actually having to play through the game and collect shit is a reminder of why we play the game to begin with. Also, console versions support split screen coop which easily makes it the best rpg on the 360. The game still isn't perfect, but I think by removing the elephant in the room (Auction house) I can upgrade my rating from C to A. It's still no D2, but it's a modern game, with fluid controls, and fun with friends, which is what matters.

Wait, SPLIT SCREEN co-op? I thought it was same screen. Fuck that, almost instantly lost interest.

With AH going away on PC, I'll stick to that.

No, you're right, I misspoke. And the PC AH isn't going away until March.

I didn't mind the AH. I did mind the RMAH, but the regular AH was a good thing for me since I could soend the ten billion gold I was accruing. To me the game just didnt keep my interest because my favorite arch type is the knight in shining (holy) armor and the monk doesnt satisfy that role for me. Im not big on archers, the barbarian was basically the same, and the witch doctor felt like a strictly worse version of the necromancer. Did they ever add more skills as part of patching? I felt like useful skill variety was pretty low by the time I got to nightmare.

I think it was usually the fact that, with all of the skills given to you, and in all of their varieties, for free simply by leveling. There was no sense of choice/risk/loss from skill selection like in the previous game.

both AHs were as bad as each other. The problem was drop rates were adjusted with the AH in mind - assuming you'd use it.

People then started buying gold, jacking up the prices of items even more. I loved it in a capitalist kind of way, i ended up making something like $200.

Now with the AHs gone, drop rates of really good items have increased - supposedly.

The game on consoles has no AH and people are reporting better drops. Noticeably better.

One can only assume the same will be prevalent on the PC.

On console there are less drops total, which means the drops you do get are usually better. It's to avoid inventory clutter.

I found maybe 10 legendaries by level 50, 9 of which had stats that I cared about (int/vit). I also found multiple of the same legendary, just at different levels, I think i found 3 different leorics crown, anywhere from level 25 to 40. I was doing like 25k dps at level 59, then I hit 60, immediately found 3 upgrades that boosted my dps to 80k. at level 58, my wand was like 300 dps, then I found a level 59 with 550dps, then I hit 60 and found a wand with 1000 dps. Then maybe 10 minutes later I found a starfire wand with 1400 dps. Pretty crazy. Going through inferno for the first time (on hard) is pretty easy, I killed belial in under a minute for the whole event.
