Welcome to the world where Blizzard Entertainment turns into Electronic Arts, as they both turn into a well used toilet that hasn't been flushed in the last 6 years. This is why I have started boycotting their shit, because they've turned into shit.

 

I've played the beta. It only lets you play as the Demon Hunter, and the game is fairly... bad.

I'm waiting for Torchlight 2.

 

The Demon Hunter in lore I can sort of understand, given the deep shit that Sancturary is now in, but couldn't they of used another name/gone in another direction? It reeks of Warcrap.

 

It reeks of Activision Blizzard.

 

Activision isn't to blame - they, Blizzard, have been following this sort of trend before the merger was even thought of.

Just look at the storylines of the 'extended' canon for their franchises - especially Starcraft's.

Diablo's, however, were pretty good - their storylines were pretty dark and grim, especially that Warlord of Blood one.

Then Diablo 3 happened.

The only games company I have faith left in now is Valve.

Considering that they're doing the same to all games, WoW, SC2 and D3, I hardly think that the bolded applies.

Of course it's an inherent anti-piracy measure, but it's also there for the players. SC2 wasn't that hard to crack, and neither will D3 be.

I still think your post was over the top, especially meaning the bolded out section.

As for whether the game is good or not? I'll wait till I play it. I have no doubt it'll sell spectacularly like all of Blizz's games.

Same here. Say anything you want about Valve, but they make awesome games.

 

Valve,Rockstar and Bethesda are my favorite company. Also Diablo 3 beta has been released. Anyone from DLP got in?

 

I'm going to remain.. cautiously.. hopeful about D3. The RMAH doesn't bother me, as long as it's done well. And the Online-Only part I can understand the reasoning behind. But I don't know enough about the game's
core mechanics to make a decision one way or another yet.

Only having Six active skills at a time does make me twitch a bit, though.

Right now the Beta is just Friends and Family + Media. They haven't sent out invitations to anyone outside those two groups as far as I know.

Well, back to my Atlas RPGs and Disgaea. Call me when Skyrim hits stores, maybe it will be good...

 

From the forums, very few people have gotten invites. I think invites will be sent out on a more day to day basis, rather then large waves.

 

Mike Morhaime just confirmed that Diablo 3 will be released in early 2012.

They've also put up the online item database, and as usual with Blizzard, they manage some lulz too.

@Vlad: Crucio is also a spell from HP, it's one of the 3 unforgivable curses. The one that causes immense pain throughout your entire body. (yep Potter nerd for life)
