I have been asking me self can dumbledor corrupt im selfe be using
    light art

We all know that dark art can corrupt the mind but can the contrary
Be possible and what would be the effect on the mind and body

Me theory is that dumbledor can no longer see bad in
Is action making him do incredible horrible action
But only see the good in them

    Ex: Snape

I don't think that there is an addictive property to dark magic. I believe it is more the rush from quick power and domination over your opponents that "corrupts" a man.

I think he could have. If dark arts have that effect on people, why wouldn't the light arts have it too?

We don't know even if there are so-called 'Light Arts'.

interesting idea... however, if the light and dark arts could corrupt, then basically all magic would corrupt wouldn't it? That'd be a scary thought IMO.

Spell check please. But i don't think Dumbledore is corrupted by light arts as much as he is obssesed with them. Personally, i think DD knows plenty of "dark arts," isn't legimency one? But i feel he doesn't like people using them b/c he's already seen two dark lords and been responsible for one, and he doesn't want to be responsible for another.

It doesn't matter if its Light Art or Dark Art. Too much Power corrupts and in Dumbledore's case, its too much Magical and Political Power.

Through out all the books, DD is portrayed Differently. Some times he is good and pure other times he seems to be manipulative because he is corrupted by his position. BUt that just the way Rowling writes all her characters. Hermione is the annoying smart bitch through the entire series until the sixth book, all of a sudden she is a fucking Dumb ass who just wants to get into Ron's pants. she constantly changes her characters so yeah Dumbledore could be a little of both.

I don't think its the magic that currupts people its the power.

"Power tends to corrupt; absolute power corrupts absolutely"

hence voldemort/dumbledore leaders of the opposing sides.

:( sorry me english really not that good but i try

in canon they int that emotional magic is the most powerful
Dumbledore just don't use hate but love and happiness
all the time like a fool and probably made ritual on using
it that affected is ... well you all know the result

But it could be other thing like sex related ritual
that create dependance ... her a biger one to sex
like a drug or using memory charm and other mind
control or otherwise spell could make you manipulative
but only to the extreme like Madeyes(psyco)
    Dumbledore(good or manipulative)Bellatrix(crusio Happy Bitch)
and voldemort(insane) work that way the other can still be
    normal to a point

It seems to me that Dumbles probably is well versed in Dark Arts, to the point where he can defend against many potential uses of it. He clearly has nothing close to Tom's abilities, as he lost his hand, and clearly got messed up by the cup he drank from. We also have no idea of how he managed to destroy Grindelwald - perhaps he used Dark Arts magic, and threw all his memories of Dark magic in a Penseive or something, sealed away never to reopen again.

Also Hermione doesn't want to get into Ron's pants, she just wants to emasculate him so that she can be the man of the two.

Your right about Hermione/Ron no way in hell bookworm/sport's geek as for dumbledore, power croups absolutely which is a problem if you don't have any,
albus is old and been in power to long to the point of being obeyed without question,

I figure that pretty much sums up my opinion of Dumbledore and how he got to be the way he is.

    Indeed.

We saw in HBP that he is pretty arrogant. A little too sure of his own power and smarts. After a while, anyone in his position would get a little cocky.

I think that D.dore is ment to symbolise the opposite of Voldermort. Harry's the equil, the one between but d.dore is ment to be a striking contrast to Voldermort.

i don't know it seems like in cannon they are trying to show that harry is the opposite of voldemort though they grew up pretty much identical lives.

I think harry is more "light" than even dumbledore. Which to us on this forum don't want.

Didn't Dumbledore call Harry 'pure' in canon? That nearly made me laugh out loud.

Well he's ment to be the opposite of Voldie, so I suppose he is...

It's all a bit confusing, one minute D.dore is this insane crazy genius, the next he's a meddling sentinel old man. I know its called character development, but its all a little too sudden for my tastes.
