I don't think town!dC thinks the "town as well" part.
Bears first quote has no indication that she might even consider dC as town.
It is basically dC getting pushed on, flailing and Bears watching it and making that comment.

The 2nd Bears quote is a weird way of Bears rowing back on their dC read.
Fonti pokes them about being to sure in their read and the "dC stopped posting" post, which is a scumtell for some people early on, becomes not knowing and being unsure.

Read the dC post a few times and you will just scumread him from that post alone.

He then reads bears in part because of their meta.
And then he runs back on that read because he feels unsure about the meta?

If he thinks that bears behavior is meta related that means somewhat good knowledge.
And he gives his meta read as one part of his read on her.

And then he turns around and is close to removing the read on bears despite them apparently knowing each other well enough to go for a meta read AND him having several other reasons to townread bears.

This is not someone being unsure on his read. That is someone afraid to be over confident in case bears gets too much pressure after the early game.
Gemma and Reg read her town at the time so he felt ok reducing the strenght of the townread.
(That was about the time when I was fighting Regfan because he is a stupid idiot and I am basically a half god.)
