I can claim I never misread him too ._.

 

I townread him too.

I told them d2 to "vote for von", but noone read my case in song form.

 

Okay so I'm actually quite glad I lost now because the following information has come to light:

During D3, I accidentally posted something to my WH Invitational QT (I was browsing it alongside my QT for this game and got the two mixed up). It was specifically the following:

I deleted it when I realized, and figured nobody would pay any attention since it's an old QT and even if they did they'd just see a deleted post. However, beru has informed me that it would essentially notify everyone who viewed that QT that a new post had been made in it (and indeed that they were aware of the mistake while the game was still running), which I was unaware of as I do not have a QT account or know much about it.

Fortunately beru did NOT see the actual post before I deleted it or townclear me for accidentally posting there instead of in my real QT, but I didn't inform the moderators of this occurrence because I wasn't aware of how big a problem it was. I am glad it didn't affect the game outcome, but I will keep this in mind if anything similar happens again.

And, er, sorry for apparently almost screwing the game up with accidental OOG communication D:

 

I think we messed up choosing Jan to be Cinderella T.T.

By the by, reasonings for each princess:

Vaimes and Gemma- soul sisters Elsa and Anna

Fonti-Megara - sass. So much sass. Did I mention sass?

Waco-Mulan - the one we most expected to be capable of firing a gun

Beru-Merida- because bears

Kalas- Jasmine- they're both fiery

dC- Rapunzel- super trusting

Reg- Ariel- because God help this man if he loses his voice

Jan- Cinderella - in hindsight ironic, but this was because he's always slaving to save town.

I have to admit that a part of me hated losing to fonti/von back in cathunt because mal/dc/myself derailed and lost the game on d2.

That part feels redeemed now.

 

That was mostly mal/me to be fair, and Cathunt was one of the many, many things feeding into "dC does not trust himself this game" :v

Congrats to Vaimes and Jan, and sorry I wasn't around for like the entire week. Work murdered my soul (in a good way). Also thank you to Miner for taking over for me, and thank you to everyone who played and participated!

At the very least, Vaimes is now mislynchable, which is all I've ever wanted.

From the perspective of a spectator, I have to admit that the Bartender role is kind of amusing, and certainly a lot less swingy than I was afraid it would be. That being said, a role PM that involves lying with 0 warning is pretty contrary to the current mod meta in which everything that isn't made by Eido tends to be an open setup or reviewed by him. Having the setup reviewed by someone else probably would have been a good move, as well some kind of warning in the signups of complexity/bastard modding, imo.

 

They are drinks, not potions, guys. Come on.

 

I think had I been given autonomy to create roles this game would've been quite a lot more bastard. And I think fonti (correctly) used it to almost confirm herself as town, so it wasn't a completely useless role.

On the other hand there's certainly regrets with the drinks not doing anything.

Nothing wrong with having bastard elements in a game, but if you do, you need to put it in big, red, bold text up front.

We've never really needed Formal Mafia Rules on DLP, but we should probably have one that closed setups need to be reviewed by Eido.

 

Eido or any sane veteran player that thinks they are able to judge such things.

Sometimes Eido is slow to respond because of work/personal things.

 

I mean, I would argue that Bartender wasn't exactly bastard since there's no description of any effects related to the drink.

But that's just me.

 

I was fine with it. I figured there was a fair chance the drinks did nothing.
