One thousandth post in this thread to give a progress report:

Admin panel lists us at 4,300~ subscribers, making us the biggest C2 on FFNet by something like 1,500 people.

Huh, I only just noticed this.

Now the strange influx of reviews to my other, less advertised, stories makes some sense. I'd been wondering why all of my stories were suddenly picking up more reviews. Well that's nice.

Not entirely sure I'd have nominated myself to be included if I'd been playing attention but I ain't gonna complain.

On an unrelated note, while the C2 having 4300 subscribers is awesome, I can't help but notice that the number two spot is occupied by Potions and Snitches.

 

Easy solution: Finish Shadow of Angmar in a 2-week binge of cocaine and wordstorms, start a C2 called "DLP Crossovers That Will Make Your Socks Roll Up And Down", make SoA the flagship, get subscribers, knock that Harry/Snape abomination down to #3.

 

Fixed that for you. But, as a compromise, you may both finish your stories and share the coke.

 

Yeah, that was part of the reason why we were so dedicated to taking over the #1 spot years ago. Damn time can fly.

Edit: Just checked. It was actually to knock a Snape/Harry one off the front page but we were clearly setting our sights a bit too low.

enembee, I don't exactly know how you admin the C2, but I just wanted to say that Harry Potter and the Untitled Tome is in the Library now with a pretty solid rating (4,03 with 40 votes) as of this post and ihateseatbelts is a DLP member. Story isn't in WBA right now, but I think he still qualifies for a Featured Author, right?

I think this deserves to be in the C2.

 

I was doing some spring cleaning of the C2 ahead of some ideas that Zombie and I have been percolating, and removed some of the old staff. Unfortunately, I didn't realise that this happened to remove all of the stories they'd added, too.

So I'm throwing open the call, if anyone is aware of any stories that deserve entry, authors who are somehow missing from the C2, or stories that appear to have vanished, please hop in on this.

So, this might be a necro, or maybe I have missed an announcement or something; but the community lost all but 4 stories.

Guessing this is on ff.net's side, but wanted to at least start the conversation.

 

Well, it has six not four stories while saying it's got sixteen. But since the six stories are all enembees I think it might have something to do with him renaming it to "The Greatest Author in the Fandom" and making it a shrine dedicated to himself. Although that's just a shot in the dark really.

 

I honestly hope it's a joke otherwise it's probably the biggest 'fuck you' to DLP I can think of outside of Raven outright deleting the site. It demeans the countless hours people have poured in to finding, rating, and reviewing stories for the C2, and takes away an important prize for the winners of the story competitions. :/
