Are we still offering up ideas?

I honestly think the best idea for using PC more often is to make it the official DLP Archives--possibly even including the 'other fandoms' as a subsection. It's already been said a few times, but it's a great way to be sure we don't lose stories we love when authors delete, or when the hosting sites delete them.

I don't generally contribute much outside of the For Review, the Library, and both Potter and Dresden Fanfic Discussion sections. But that's why I'm here, really, the fanfiction. I read All The Time, but I don't live close enough to a book store to go all that often and my local library is shit. I like to come here and find generally high-quality fic to hold me over. That's why I came to DLP to begin with. It's a huge part of the reason I'm still here.

Don't get me wrong, I love being 'surrounded' by people who act as much like assholes as my friends and I do in the real world, and by people who have the same taste in fiction--but I don't really socialise here. I'm here for the reading material. Well, that and the lulz.

To sum up, a shift away from fanfiction as the central feature of the community isn't a change I'd look forward to.

When I get back on a PC I'll type up my suggestions but for now I suggest cutting out the bloat that is the Other Fandoms section, I mean we have Firefly and Stargate that rarely get any substantial traffic why should they deserve their own forums? Either they could be replaced with more popular series or better, all of them should either be moved into the For Review section or a new Recycling Bin, assuming they have enough votes for that.

Anyone mind if I make my own shirt with the projectDLP printed on it? It's just simple stuff, film screen and then textile paint with ten minutes work with a cutter.

P.S. I really want a shirt, and I have too many plain white tshirts in my cabinet.

It'd be up to Raven I believe. So you should probably direct your question to him.

If we can still offer suggestions, then I might have one:

I believe someone mentioned earlier in the thread, that it would be nice to divide the story threads (like WbA) into chapters instead of one big thread.

My idea would be, to allow the creator of the thread (and the mods, of course) to make a chapter where afterwards we can post just like normal.

However to see the next chapter you have to press a button or something like that.

The point of this is to prevent cluttering in the WbA and other threads like that, but also to give us the option of not having to scroll through several posts if we just want to read the story. You could also use this if there are several ongoing discussions in one thread. Its kinda like a thread within a thread.

Talking about WBA, I think it might be a good idea to give thread starters the ability to doublepost. Having the ability to give each chapter its own post would probably be convenient for those who post huge chunks of a story in one sitting.

LOL, DLP Hoodies. You could print the logo on American Apparel hoodies Style #F497 (Forest color) for about $20.

Raven: up for mass ordering and making them a gift for people who donate $50? I'd buy one. :p

Would you think less of me if I offered to buy one of those custom DLP hoodies for the person that guesses closest to the body count without going over? Like some a twisted version of some The Price is Right game...

Think less of you? No. Run the hell away from you as fast as I could before Homeland Security came to probe all of us for information... yes.

I remember that. I was studying in Cologne (May of 2007) when the news of an Asian that started a shooting spree similar to Columbine got around. I was wearing a sweater then with a hood, and my German classmates looked at me for a moment, no doubt wondering in their minds If I also have anger issues.

Vash, I would pay good money for both of those hoodies - and I'm in Canada, so no Homeland Security for me! :D

In any case, if we do decide to go through with this, I'd go for front zip-up hoodies rather than pull-overs. Those tend to work better.
