Ha, that is a bit of a tall order. Not a huge deal, as iLost won March with only the first chapter of a story.

Mine's basically done. I have to change a few scenes to make a little more sense, and perhaps open the door for a sequel, but it's pretty much done. Slightly over 15k words.

VotN has been writing pretty much every day, as you'd see if you still did 500

Eh, whatever. At the rate I'm going I won't even have my Romance entry done in two months.

Correction: EVERY single day since March 10th.

In a little over two months:
    Sole Survivor (16k)
    Sitra Ahra 24 (6k)
    Sitra Ahra 25 (24k)
    Ouroboros 2 (4k so far)
    Unforgiving Minute 6 (11k)
    Concentric Wavelengths (15k)
Unforgiving Minute 7 (2.5k so far)

Nunuh, have I mentioned lately how awesome 500 for 500 is?

    Yeah.

I've got slightly over 15k in Freedom Everburning, 3k in the Humor contest entry, and 3.6k in the upcoming Romance entry. A third of what you've got, but I still feel accomplished, even if it's barely 10k words/month - which, really, is as much or more than most DLP authors (cough Joe Santi Syao Nuhuh cough).

And I'd like to pretend I'm beating Swim but I'm not, and really I'd rather Swim write more than me - I get to read more CR :D

Also it's kinda sad how it's really only four people that can say they're keeping up - you, Zenzao, shinysavage, and Swim.

Agreed, Swim writing is a wondrous thing. And congrats to you, Zenzao and shiny for keeping up as well.

Aside from that, it's a commitment thing. It's difficult, to keep setting aside time for this sort of thing every day. Coming off a 13 hour workday (which has happened at least 30 times over the past few months), I would really rather play video games, but I'm loathe to break my own pace.

It all depends on how important writing is to you. I've pretty much given up video games (aside from the new Donkey Kong Wii game for the past few days), and devoted that time to writing.

Quite understandable, though still slightly disappointing, there's not more participants.

Shit. I did, didn't I? And then promptly forgot about it this last week.

Still got a week to go, I guess. I've a basic outline of a story, involving time-travel with a touch of flawed romance. We'll see. At this point, yeah - prepare to be destroyed, Nick.

Glad to know others will be participating. And, VoN and T3t, how I wish the 500 group worked for me, but I'm the kind of writer that scratches his balls for a week and then churns out 10k words in a day--10k words that are mostly shit, but can be polished into 5k that works.

Also: Joe, my story has a screaming crowd, a huge crater, a gladiator riding a chimera, and the Death. Still confident?

I could corroborate that statement if you'd mail it to me already.

Send it over, squire. I'm free this evening/tomorrow, if you're about.

Thanks for the offer, but Lord Anarchy already did a kick-ass job with it. The problem is there's some...poorly conceived plot points towards the end of the story. I know how to fix them, I just hate editing, so haven't got around to doing so yet.

I have... 319 words. I only started today, and I noted down the plot idea ages ago, so I'm looking good for the deadline... sort of.

I just realised that I have a week to type out OVER 9000! (about 9,300 if you were wondering) words on a fic I started almost three weeks ago...

    I'm so fucked.

The fic I've been working on won't fly unless it's completed. So that gives me a week to crank out ~50k more words...Oh, I also have a final on Thursday. You could be in a worse position ;)

Same position here. I'm scrambling to find time to write, but when you work until 9 pm, it's pretty hard.

Argh. Guess I should apologize now for all the tech problems and misspellings in my story. Damn. Fishing trip was supposed to end on the 31st rather than Saturday. Good luck everyone else submitting.

Submitted. I didn't make some edits I probably should have, but, eh, didn't think I was going to win anyway.

Think it goes without saying we have more than enough judges at this point. You'll know pretty shortly if you got it, for the rest of you: Deadline is tomorrow.
