I wish I could have entered, considering this is my favourite category. May's a busy time for quite a few of us.

Will the order of the contests stay the same next year? If so, I guess writing in advance is possible/a good idea.

The 300 words I managed to write for this contest have no time travel. You guys think its worth submitting?

 

I've about 9k words written, but a story only about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way done. Since I think the ending is what will make my story, I think I'll just hold off on submission and just finish on my own time. (As a partial, it's not quite compelling enough to submit for competition).

The judging ends on the seventh, unless I'm misremembering. So I assume then, or a day later.

...Since that day's my birthday, and this month's genre is my favourite, it'll be practically a birthday present. :3

 

If all the judges finish judging before the 7th, will the entries be released early? Also, what if one judge fails to submit a score, will it also still be released on the 7th?

 

Presumably if they all finished up before the 7th than we'd get our results once the scores were thus tallied. Likewise, given the clusterfuck that was the judging of March, if anyone fails to score an entry or multiple entries than we'll get delayed until they do so.

 

I don't think they wait for every judge to judge every story if one slacks off. With the admins voting, there's usually enough votes on a story by the time a week has passed. Or that's what was said on IRC.

 

I wish they announce the June genre on the 1st, though.

 

Yeah, that would be nice. I'm going to be entering both the Independent and Romance contests, and it'd be nice to know which to work on first.
