I could out that rereading 7 books we've all read before is impractical and we're doing it anyway, but I won't.

Oh, come now, like with any good book, reading it again leads to discovery of elements and an understanding of things you didn't get before. I read my favourite King, Tolkein, Rothfuss, and Rowling at least once every six months - because as a reader in a different mood/environment/mindset, I pick up on things or interpret things differently. See things I did nay see before.

Such is the point of a good story!

I thought I was making a rather obvious dig at Taure for trying to ruin our fun with his practical concerns. My sarcasm calibrator is clearly in need of a service.

Don't worry, I got your meaning.

Joe's just a bit addled from all the alcohol he consumes.

I'm cool with the symbolic schedule, although there are enough of us doing this that I suspect there will be plenty of people finishing early or later than the schedule calls for. I'm a huge fan of the idea of watching the movies alongside this too. Gives me an excuse to buy them at least.

Something that I just now thought of that I really should've thought of before: How many ppl here read a translated version of the Harry Potter series before reading the English one? Or even Philosopher's Stone v Sorcerer's stone for that matter.

It's a bit of a tangent but are we gonna discuss the various translations of the books alongside the reread of the original version? I for one would be interested in hearing all the new names translators came up with. I read the Dutch translations of the first 4 books before going OG and let me tell ya, going from Anderling and Perkamentus to McGonagall and Dumbledore took some getting used to, never mind Hermelien>Hermione.

Sounds like you guys have a shitty translator. I had never read anything of Harry Potter in english before reading fanfiction and even know there are things I prefer in the german version.

Your annual reminder that Tom Riddle's name in the French translation is Tom 'Elvis' Jedusor:
