I get it constantly, and it's screwed me up a few times =(

 

I've gotten it once, haven't been in the game long enough to tell if it's endemic.

I got all of the above, it's strange. I will try to buy again tomorrow and see if the problem persists.

 

Ugh. Fucked up my stop sell orders, just lost about $1k off my overall worth. Suppose this is why I'm not a stock broker.

 

3 people out of 40 are above 0.0% in total returns (and if they keep dropping, not even that).

This is sad. Good thing it's a year long and a game or else we all would be screwed.

 

Part of it is many banked on Netflix rising so fast on their trend, and now that the price is correcting itself due to marketers bitching it was overvalued, it's falling and fucking everything.

Anubis, I couldnt figure out the stop orders, so I said screw it, lol. the interface needs some serious help options to newbies.

 

Fucking hell, I dropped from 4th to fucking 29th.

 

I sold Netflix two or three days ago. I'm just saying...

/My other stocks aren't doing so hot right now, but at least I'm not stuck riding that one all the way into the ground

It's a very good thing I'm not a stockbroker because I really suck at this stuff. We've been doing it what, 1 month? And I'm down 8k. I keep thinking Netflix is bound to rebound, and well my other stocks are only down a little bit. It doesn't make that much sense to go ahead and sell them at a loss now does it? Yeah, hopeless optimism doesn't help you do well in stocks apparently.

It makes more sense to sell a stock at a loss than it does to ride it all the way into the ground... or, it could rebound. Ain't the market grand?

I don't think Netflix is going to rebound to the heights it was headed to actually. It's stock has been shooting through the roof for awhile now actually for pretty much the only reason that they're building access to to into everything. I've had it for a week or two now via my TV's streaming app, and after initially being pleased with it, I've noticed after a few nights of catching up with newer movies I'd missed... it's got mostly nothing but old shitty movies, lol.

As for a comment I said earlier in the thread about my picks leading to some random shit, I went from dead last to #1, after loosing 10K of my nut in a mistaken Apple sell off when I meant to buy, and another 15Kish due to a bad pick, lmfao. I'd have even more cash, but the damned system loves to tell me it's unavailable whenever I tried to buy stuff =/

 

Finally got round to buying some shit on there. I went for BP, because as low as their stock has been lately, oil prices are still set to go up, and the Aluminium Corporation of China Ltd. Aluminium always goes up in price when new wars are declared (or the West decides to intervene in more countries). For the sake of this game I'm now hoping that we do institute that no fly zone over Libya. That's bound to push the prices up.

 

BP's CEO is about to be shitcanned and replaced by the guy who was in charge of cleaning up the Gulf spill, who's regarded as an idiot as well, so expect to take a hit there. When oil prices rise, you're better off betting on the guys who find new deposits, and then drill them, then the guys who pay the people to find them and extract it.

I've got some stuff thrown in various Chinese companies, but from playing this game on my own in years past, it's random as fuck. I had a huge chunk of stuck in one of the major plastics supplier... which you know they make EVERYTHING over there, how the hell could that of been a bad bet? But it took a nosedive in a move that pretty much no one could explain, lol.

 

Today's return: +20.71% Total return: -19.80%

My return today would be legendary, if not for a bug. Make sure to check your stock symbols from time to time, I had one of mine change it's symbol today, Marketwatch didn't update it, so it was showing I lost a ton of money on a stock that still doing very well.
