So is anyone able to place buy orders? I can still sell stuff, but it hasn't let me place a buy order for a week or so.

 

Yeah I can buy. I'll have times where it screws up on me or the orders expire though.

I went from Total return +11% or so, to that shit! Why? I bought 100 more of a stock I liked, HERO, which dropped 72 cents. Okay, fine, no problem that happens. Only the new 100 changed my purchasing price from the 4.30's cost I paid for the majority of my something like 20K shares, to the 5.80's the new 100 cost. So when the price dropped some the other day, it now looks like I lost my ass, instead of still being way up. Getting tired of sending support tickets each week =/

 

Huh, well just looked at this again. Turns out one of the companies I had stock in went private. Instead of getting paid out it just counted it all as a net loss. How do you submit a support ticket?

Hmmm, I'd actually forgotten about this, haven't touched my account on there in ages.

 

Never tried anything like this before, but it seems like I can learn some things depending on how accurate it is. Let's see how long it takes me to go from rich to broke-ass poor.

 

For the last 20 min I've wanted to buy stocks only to have some error and I literally see how much money I lose because of it (right now 10$ for every stock I'd buy and it's still going up). If it was for real I'd probably kill someone, but I'm still disappointed that I'm missing so big chance to make money.

 

Yeah I had that happen to me so often I just gave up checking it. That and I had a stock get renamed or something a few months ago, and despite numerous emails they never fixed it, so I lost a ton of money invested. It's just not fast enough.

 

I shorted 500 shares of NFLX last week with a limit order at $240. The stock hit $239 and change and I'm like "sweet, $1500 for 30 minutes of work" and I went on my merry way.

Only my order never executed, for whatever reason.

Netflix is up $20/share this week and I still need to cover? FUCK THIS GAME

 

Yeah the orders tend to expire a lot if you do them at certain times. I gave up fucking with the game, most of the time my orders just vanish, like I never made them =(

 

Update:

Shorted the Dow yesterday (like a boss) and am back in 3rd (If that fucking Netflix short had executed, I'd probably be... well, still in 3rd).

It doesn't ease the pain of the beating my 401(k) is going to be taking, but it's something.

 

Actually you would probably be second since all of my stock are from Netflix.

Despite everything I would be in first if cmat did not cash in his stocks when he did. Maybe.

But man its been brutal lately, I was up over twice as much as I am currently.

 

Well one of my companies went private, one got bought out, and Google is just not doing well. Things are not looking so hot, I suppose I could email them to get back the money on the first two, but I wouldn't be in contention anyway.

 

I just tried to check my portfolio after a long hiatus, and the Marketwatch site has changed, gotten a facelift. I can can get into my portfolio just fine, but I can't find our game at all. Does anyone know how to find it, or has it been wiped?

Nah, ended at the end of the year. I think it's safe to say it's ok that it got wiped though.
