I've been looking into a possible implementation of a search engine using basic weighted graph theory - the idea is to use "trusted" sources (like DLP people) to weight stories and story recommendations higher.

When I get a bit more info, I'll post it.

Accessing ff.net by HTTP everytime you do a search is going to be slower than drugged snails, especially if the servers decide to lag. A local db filled in from the main listing (15 or 50 pages, like) will be much better. And having your own db means you can keep track of updates, add notes/flags/ratings...
I wish I was good enough at coding to help, but as it is I can offer my services for testing - I have lots of free time to waste and enough of an idea on how things work.
