Yeah. For a while it was totally random in what item you got and when you got it. I think with the milestone its been a little more organized.

No, it just randomly gave you the weapons while you were playing. After that update idle servers became far more common. You could just leave your computer on with TF2 playing and you would get the weapons without any effort at all.

Indeed. But the idea of killing someone and them dropping the wep they are holding and you pick it up to get it is a good one. Sure it'd take some time but eventually everyone would get it.

Like say a Valve Employee gets on with jarate. He's killed while he's holding it open. Whoever runs over the jarate would get that item. Now there are two people with the item. And so and so forth as people die and get that item. This way it spreads.

A slight necro, I suppose, but not a useless one.

I've bought the game recently, and I signed onto our server (unsurprisingly, it was empty). The walls were an extremely messed up color (like someone paintballed the walls), frames and sound were choppy and I'm getting frustrated. While I may not make the recommended settings for the game, I don't think that the game should be as choppy as it is, or that the frames should be as bad as they are. Could it be my internet is causing the problem? Or anything else that isn't blatantly obvious to a computer newbie such as myself? Any help would be appreciated.

Okay, this happened to me once, and IIRC it was because I had my torrents open at the time.

If your system can't run it though, just go with running everything at minimal, and in a windowed mode. See if it improves, then you can bump some things up until you reach its limit.

Also, if you're on a laptop change the power plan from "Balanced" or "Power Saver" to "High Performance."

Eh, dunno what other things I can tell you. Oh yeah, if you have too many processes going or something like that, just run msconfig.

Select selective startup, uncheck the button that says load start up items. Then go to services, hide all MS services, and disable all.

    That should do it.

I don't know what happened, the DLP server used to be 32/32 constantly.

I'm hoping that come summer everyone will forego the sun and stay inside in true geek fashion.

Perhaps it would be a good idea to create an inter-DLP tournament or enter DLP as a whole into a tournament? That may bring 'em back.

I added the server not too long ago, recently it's dropped off my server list, but before then, it was always 0/32 whenever I was on :(

Was looking forward to huntsman'ing you guys. I get the luckiest shots with that thing.

But it's been a few months, I guess interest in TF2 has dropped off?

I play but I only ever play surf maps now <_<, I find them relaxing and in the case of skill maps, interesting. The rest of TF2 actually bores me really.
