I really hope it's not Davros - too uncreative.

Did anyone else play the second Adventure Game? It was decent, although the plot made no sense and I have no idea where it fits in the continuity.

I'm hoping it's someone new, personally. Shake things up a bit. Although they seem to have quite a connection to/power over the TARDIS...perhaps someone connected to the Timelords? The Master seems a little obvious though.

I really hope not, there's only so many times the same big bad can be used before it gets boring.

Exactly - evidence A: the Daleks post Ecclestone, for the most part.

That said, I'd love to see Moffat's take on the Master eventually. That could be brilliant.

Nice episode, though it bothered me that Rory didn't go at least somewhat insane... didn't feel like a proper Doctor Who finale, though.

I suspect that the Davros crumbs are false clues, and that the big bad will turn out to be someone we know, coming back in a way we don't expect.

Has Davros appeared in the recent series, or do I not remember him because he was from the older series?

    My theory is that
The Rani is somehow involved with this whole thing. Or perhaps Amy is the regenerated Doctor's-clone-daughter from the episode The Doctor's Daughter (S4E6).

There are tons of things that they could do with the series. Be interesting if I'm right.

It's Omega, or possibly the Black Guardian.

Hmm, I like the idea of it being the Black Guardian, or Omega I suppose, at least it would be something a little different.

Something to remember about the Daleks is that they don't have shame or regret or pride- they just have hate.

Hate aside, the Daleks are largely logical- if a Dalek believed that asking for mercy was the best way to survive, it would do so- but don't mistake it doing so as being 'afraid' or 'scared'- to the Dalek, it's just a simple cost/effectiveness choice. Believing the data before it, it if believes that 'begging' will allow it that extra time it needs to make it's gun work again, why wouldn't it do so?

all the things that would prevent a human from doing so, a Dalek lacks.

Yeah but logically they should always beg the Doctor for mercy then, he's always beaten them in the end.

The Daleks always believe they have the upper hand over the Doctor though. They're not just full of hate, they're full of hate and (over)confidence.

Why didn't the Daleks didn't kill the Doctor? Because he's died ten times already and he's still around to thwart their plans. When they shot him in The Stolen Earth, they ended up having to fight two of him in Journey's End and gave his companion the brain of a Time Lord. Things just don't work out well for them.

I found the episode itself great, but honestly nothing can compare to the episode before it. The Pandorica Opens has to be one of my favorite Dr. Who episodes ever.

The Big Bang was good however, it had some great moments and some rather mediocre ones. The great moments were definitely more prominent than the mediocre ones though.

I've only seen up to The Logder but do we ever find out who it was that was
trying to build their own TARDIS?

No, not yet. I suspect it's a plot point for future episodes.
