Now, question, (and don't rape me) if someone who has never watched Doctor who wants to start... where should they?

The last series (season 5) was, I think, the first to have unresolved plot elements at the end leading into series 6, so watching that would probably be a good idea, maybe with the Silence in the Library/Forest of the Dead two parter for River Song's introduction.

Apart from that...you could probably just pick a series and start there, to be honest. I've hardly watched any of the original show, certainly. The first revival series is as good a place to start as any.

Because it's Moffat that's writing it, and not that fucking soap-opera idiot Davies.

More Doctor, this time a rather big spoiler.

Cover of DW magazine is saying that one character from the main cast will die in a season opener.

Also - Rory Pond. Well, he definitely knows what is his place in this relationship. :)

EDIT: A link is still showing in a spoiler. Just don't click on it, if you don't want to know.

EDIT2: I've just remembered. This is how Neil Gaiman described DW for these that haven't had a chance to see it yet.

Also in the article is some info on Mark Sheppard's character, Canton Everett Delaware III, who is apparently an FBI agent, and speculation about the 9th/10th Doctor's TARDIS that appears in the trailer.

There's no shame in admitting that at all. Good GOD that could be awesome.

Somewhere, somehow, somewhen, there is a universe where this has already happened.

I wish I lived in that universe.

That's the most depressing media-related thing I've heard all week.

I'll probably come back with a more coherent statement later, but for now I'd just like to leave this here:

Eh, I was a little disappointed in todays episode, tbh. Next episode should be a whole lot better though.

^ Agreed. It was all set-up, really. Though they definitely got the right balance of creepy with those new aliens - colour me impressed on that point.

I forgot what I was going to say... So yeah. GUESS WHAT TODAY IS! 8D

    * Inquisition cannot wait

See, because the Silence made Amy/River forget about seeing them. Oho. Anyway, we found out who the evil TARDIS belongs to now perhaps. And the Doctor has been annexed by Richard Nixon. Fuck that, bro. More thoughts as I remember what they are.

Ok, having calmed down, I'll admit it wasn't 100% perfect. There's some heavy recycling going on
the spooky space suits, creepy childs voices, the Silence's gimmick is very similar to the Angels, that kind of thing
, and the first big twist is undermined by the fact that it's never going to stick, not completely.

I still say it was brilliantly written, clever, funny, and scary to boot. Loved it, and can't wait for the pay off.
