Yes, but, Amy has not had to wait the long for anybody and Rory is hardly going to tell her "36 Years is nothing" - he just wouldn't do that.

You'd think the Doctor would say something though.

Considering that would do nothing more thqan make him the badguy in Rory's eyes and he is that by the end of the episode anyway to a point, it really wouldn't have helped matters. It would have just made things worse.

She was complaining about "12 years" in the first episode anyway so this isn't new for her.

Yes but at that point no one had waited for The Doctor that long, to our knowledge. So she was sort of in the right to do it then. As for this Episode, the TARDIS left her stranded in a place she didn't know for a lenghty period of time. The first time The Doctor left her, when she was a child, the situation was terribly different and she could just pass it off as a dream. She couldn't do that this time and unlike Rory who choose to wait for her out of devotion, she had no choice in the matter.

That is what I think angered Amy the most. Her lack of choice. Which, when you think about it, ties in nicely with the end of the episode.

I think it's still cannon, the Doctor and Rory talked about it in the first two parter.

    Canon.

    As for Mary Song. XD

The last episode is called The Wedding of River Song.

I think it's been established that its pretty much a Mary Sue people. We're gonna have to get over it.

This Saturday's episode should be interesting. We might see the return of the Weeping Angels!

And isnt his first rule: "The Doctor Lies"

The title of the episode may just be misdirection...or it isn't a marriage in the conventional sense.

I'm pretty sure that the salient point in this regard is that Rory knew that he would have to wait 2000 years. As a FLESH construct.

Amy had to wait 36 years, expecting the Doctor to show up at any time, until she started to get old.

I think that making this episode about actual, conventional wedding of the Doctor and River will be more surprising than any misdirection. ;)

So, what do we think was in the Doctor's room? Or who, I suppose.

I doubt we'll ever get an official answer, but I wouldn't be surprised to find that it's himself - or maybe the Valeyard?

If the thing in the room is something he fears... it probably represents the thing he always hints he is running from.

Along the same lines of Shinysavage saying it is Doctor, but more esoteric than a spiked monster of course. Not that the BBC will ever tell us such a direct answer.

I have no idea what to feel about this episode.

    It was... interesting?

It just feels kind of wrong.

I doubt this is the end of Amy and Rory, but still the ending felt... like nails on a chailboard.

    Unsettling.

So yeah. Also, this week's episode was actually good. Holy shit. And when I say good, I mean marginally better than whatever the hell that other crap was.

Also, Britfags: when you saw David Walliams doing his best French impersonation (silly surrender monkeys), did anybody else think that he needed to be pushing Matt Lucas around in a wheelchair? Or coughing at the Doctor from behind the desk? Or writin-da-feem-toon, singing-da-feem-toon? And if you didn't. Where has your sense of humour gone?

@ Shinysavage: Why ruin the surprise of seeing what the Doctor's greatest fear is? You'll see it during the Harry Potter crossover episode when he fights off the Dementors. Pro tip: his greatest fear is cancellation DICKS. DICKS EVERYWHERE probably something lame like the Earth destroyed.

And the most intelligent post from QuaziJoe I have ever seen. I must say, I was impressed.

So rumor has it that the next season won't air until next fall. Which is so damn stupid because I could have sworn the whole point of this mid season hiatus was so that there would not be more than 6 months between episodes.

Well I guess they want a full season that can lead up to and sink with the 50th anniversary

edit: never mind I thought it was next year not 2013.

There is a fucking awesome Indiana Jones vibe from those pics.

    I think it's the hat.

I've gotten a bit bored with Dr. Who since Lets Kill Hitler, hopefully the last episode can reignite my interest.
