i thought it was okay at first now i hate it so boring and all the "oh Love" uke: ... srry off topic

but most stories with like 2000 revies is some dickwad who says Great story like every chap 15 times

 

No trust me, that's not it, nor is it by a active poster at the moment. It's from a guy that used to be here alot awhile ago. I'll decline to name him or the story, but it was a load of typo'ed shit with cliche after cliche, and even folks here said they liked it, not to mention droves of salivating fans at ff.net. It's fairly easy to see the stories I'm disgusted with, wether it's from review whoring, or horrible writing, they'll be the ones I either havent posted in at all and it's a old thread, or the one's I've posted in and not mentioned the fic at all)

Jealousy? Maybe, but more annoyance that the thing looked way worse then mine, or even other decent fics, yet raked in positive reviews like nothing. Hell I'd even take bad reviews if they were constructive.

 

I don't care too much for reviews anymore. Most of them seem to be written by horny airheads so I just ignore them. What annoys me is the amount of Slash I have to shift throught to find a good story.

Scorpian Socerer is one of the better fics I read. It had such a good start by then seemed to lose steam as chapters progressed.

 

Middie's referring to Ulkser's story, I think, because I had the same problem. Got good reviews here, but I tried to read it, and it was practically jibberish to me.

Most people are very mainstream, and stuck in their ideas. 99% of unique things never gets to their ears, because they are frozen in their opinions.

 

I usually only review if the story is really good but if its a bad fic then i flame them depending on how bad it is.

 

im usually to lazy to review, uless its to flame some idiot who doesn't understand the concept of captial letters and punctuation

 

I usually review something that is either really good in my books, or soo bad in my books that it just has to be flamed to hell and back, like the story by Black Roses in the Midnights fic.

 

What gets my goat is the reviews that are too long, but really say nothing of value.

And spammers...i remember checking out stained futures reviews, just to see whether he actually got any praise, and there was this review that was around 2000 words long that graphically described Harry being...erm, disciplined by Snape.

The review was posted 4 times.

I usually review after each chapter, save for fics I just find then its the last chapter I read. Ofcourse if its crap then I'm not gonna review.


A Major reason The slash fics I personally think is: There's more girls then guys in Fandom. Period.

The Ginny fics get a ton of reviews because its canon, a lot of newcomers dont like reading things to far out there.

There are good fics with insane amounts of reviews.

The Dragonmasters by Naia for example or The Awakening of the Magus by the-dreamer4 and you cant forget A Second Chance at Life by Miranda Flairgold.

To be honest in the Independent series, only Lord Silveres Earl of the North, Fayr Warning's Reign of Power and Master Sylthrin's Otherside of Hell have grossed in a huge number of review that are not grabage.

and even besides that, only Lord Silvere and Master Slyrthin hate slash of the above authors mentioned.

Oh well personally I think that being unknown and small amounts of good reviews is better then a mass number of crap reviews.
