I really didn't expect that for her at all, I mean Ballard spent five episodes ignoring her, then he's interested because someone mentions his obsession with Echo, I was kinda thinking she would die and he'd become even more fixated. Im thinking Echo/Ballard ship, this is after thinking Echo/Sierra of course.

Chekhov's Gun. There was no reason to have her there if she wasn't going to play a bigger role in the story than being the girl who gets wet and has her heart broken over Ballard.

I'm afraid it will be.

YES HE CAN. Now that BSG is over I'll at least be able to still see one of the actors on TV.

They honestly don't seem all that worried about that. They've already been shown to have high-level governmental officials in their pockets, and the Dollhouse itself seems firmly entrenched as an urban legend in the minds of the people.

Ballard getting killed might not be all that suspicious either. It could have been played off the same way the attack on Millie was and his shooting was, as an act of revenge by the Russians he's been feuding with.

So, the newest episode is kinda a mind-trip.

I really liked this episode. There were some really important things in the story that were hidden in the wacky hijinks. First of all, it shed some light into Echo's past. I've said before that I wasn't too fond of the initial opening scene of her recruitment, but having a little more of the back story made me happy.

Also, chief of security Dominic made a point that he has a life beyond the Dollhouse, which was weird. I have a hard time seeing any of the staff having a life beyond their jobs.

Can't wait for next episode.

I really hope the next episode doesn't end up right where it started. It certainly has the potential to - with everyone wiped again by the end, and the only thing we get out of it is maybe some more background story. I'll take rapid plot advancement any day. Then again, I never watched Firefly and don't know Josh Whedon's methods, so... >_>

Looks like this one'll be cancelled along with Terminator since FOX can't get it's head out of it's ass and realize everyone DVR's shit now a days, so ratings don't = viewership.

Am I the only one who's still watching, because the last few episodes have been amazing.

What I'm coming to realize is that this show isn't really about Echo recovering her memories and becoming Caroline again. It's about Echo becoming her own person, despite everything the Dollhouse does to her.

Looks like I was right about Ballard becoming Echo's handler eventually. Her old one has taken the Security Chief's job, and the new guy has "random Star Trek ensign/canon fodder" written all over him.

Yeah, I've been watching. The recent episodes have been the best, which makes me even angrier, because I can easily see this show being cancelled without a shot at a renewal.

Hey, maybe we can get a movie out of it.

I've stayed away from the spoilers but I do know that Alan Tudyk's on the show tonight.
Yay!
I have no idea if Alpha is supposed to get further development or not. I hope so because I find Ballard a tinsy bit boring. I'm unimpressed by the self loathing he displayed in the last episode.

So there I was last week, at our Saturday 'game night' with some friends, rolling dice, and I said,

"Hey, the guy who played Wash on Firefly is going to be on Dollhouse. I bet you a hundred bucks he turns out to be Alpha."
And then one of them said, "I don't watch Dollhouse, that show sucks." and the rest just shrugged.

Hmm. So maybe I should have 'called it' amongst more a appreciative group. Still... I feel a teensy, tiny bit smug.

Just a little.

And I'm glad to see Joss using Alan "I'm a leaf on the wind" Tudyk again.

Edit: Hmm... Weekly Saturday game night is a bit redundant, isn't is? *SNIP*

I've been keeping up with the show. Somewhat hesitant to get too attached because I know the series is almost certainly nearing its end.

But tonight, I will admit
when Wash sliced up Victor's face and had just the teensiest most evil smile ever
it gave me a boner.

Still not sure where everything's going but I'm beginning to think I'm going to be real sad when it's gone.

It seems to be like they didn't plan for much more than a season. All the loose ends are pretty much put together. When the finale comes, I can easily see it being a series finale, and not just a season finale.

This episode was hardcore. Loved it.

One thing did confuse me, and that was the scenes with Echo and the kid at the start. Seems to me like they could have built the dollhouse confrontation up more, or had some extra scenes within the dollhouse instead of that.

Those scenes were used to start the main motif of this episode: the victim and the rescuer.

Freak-in-awesome Episode. Did you think Wash was Alpha? I did Not expect that. Isn't it strange how he recycles actors and puts their characters on the opposite end of the spectrum: Caleb/Mal and now Wash/Alpha (although we aren't quite sure where Alpha is yet). Coincidence or deliberate statement. Or maybe trying to fuck up with people's perception since we remember the character in a particular mold. Anyway. I ramble.

Since Alpha left Echo alive I've been wondering what the connection between them is. We know this is not her original personality, whatever little that means in the Dollhouse world. Did he give her something constructed to make her fall all over him? Or it something that actually happened? If yes, when and Where!

Echo. Everybody loves Echo. Why exactly is she the diamond lost in a bunch of rubies anyway?

Dominik (how ever the name is spelled): Cruel fate.

Victor: Ouch. Why didn't Alpha just kill him?

Frak. Can't wait for the next episode. I so freaking hope the 13th episode will not be the end. Otherwise, I'll have to resort to mailing anthrax.

Edit: frak.

I hope no one who hasn't seen the latest episode sees your spoiler-riddled post, otherwise they may be the ones sending the weird packages in the mail.

Edit: Ah, and this was post 666... It's a milestone of sorts, I guess.

Didn't get to see it on Friday, so I'm just checking in.

SKEEEEEEETT-SKEET-SKEET!!!

Most of what needs to be said was already mentioned here, but I loved the fight scene between Ballard and Langdon. The line between good and evil with those two isn't just thin, it's practically non-existent.

God it kills me that this show isn't going to make it.
