Greed? Alliance plays super safe and punishes mistakes very hard. NaVi executed their draft perfectly up until that teamfight where they went up 4-0, then made a series of miscues and Alliance never looked back.

No Chinese teams made top 3. Also, God Alliance is the most annoying team to watch.

If only Navi drafted something else instead of a worthless Tidehunter which doesn't do anything against BKB.

The tide was a core piece of the strategy. The whole reason they were able to push so well was that it was impossible for alliance to initiate without getting ravaged. But I agree about alliance's style. So safe and boring.

Cool to see that this thread has been active about TI3, I've been avoiding it so as not to see spoilers before I caught up to all the games.

Was anyone else a little suprised by na'vi's playstyle yesterday? It seems a bit lazy and slacking and the drafts have been a little odd lately and not exactly paying off.

The fountain hooks were abosultely crazy and although in an interview Puppey seemed to regret it, the crowds reactions and the teams after the game were great.

I disagree that it's a bug, it has been around since the original dota and valve wanted to keep it in. It's also incredibly hard and not the first time in a pro game its been done, although never with such success. I can't find the video but one team got 6 out of 40 fountain hooks in a game and lost, I will try and find on dotacinema.

Wow Orange. No words aside from nerves perhaps? Deny Aegis from Roshan by accident and then proceed to get caught and throw 2 fights in a row into losing bot & mid lane barracks...

Potential throw/biggest mistake of the tournament. Na'Vi really coming back into this now, scarily so. If they did, what would happen in terms of the previous Alliance vs Na'Vi match? Alliance start 1-0 up or would it be a fresh start? I'm also assuming if Na'Vi win the BO5 they play a BO3 or another BO5 due to coming up from the losers bracket?

Edit; Dem throws Orange. But my god Na'Vi.

It'll be a single BO5 match without any advantage given to any team.

Honestly, apart from the Aegis deny (which I thought was hilarious) it wasn't really a throw. Orange had a lineup that drops off incredibly sharply once Navi got their BKBs. And once puppy got his, the game sharply went into their favor.

Mushi on OD was their only carry hero, who can't do any damage to magic immune targets. So Navi just played the smart game of delay delay delay until puppy got BKB and could do some amazing blackholes.

Huh, fair enough. Makes sense given time constraints with a game like DotA 2 as well, watched far too many SC2 events I guess.

    Holy shit....

I have heart problems, and that game 5 nearly sent me to the hospital. That should be enough said.

    Still shaking.

Was slightly going for Navi, but fuck me Alliance deserve that so much after that performance.

S4 won that game for them, with that 3 TP cancel. Oh god.

That was incredible. Everything I'd hoped for/wanted.

    Orange aegis deny...

The Finals were pretty exciting, but damn why did s4 have to cancel all of Navi's tps.

The aegis steal, the 3 tp deny, and THEN the 2 tp deny that won the game... And the commentators were criticizing s4's early game.

Anyone been following the post TI3 roster shuffling rumors? Lots of crazy stuff will be going down in the next month or so. Latest rumors suggest Burning is moving to the 3 position with Sylar taking over the 1 role on DK. That would be an extremely scary team assuming Burning adapts well to the switch.

Burning, obviously. They didn't name Anti-Mage after the guy for nothing you know.

Jokes aside they're probably looking to turn Burning into an Admiral Bulldog esque player. He might be their offlane be he still manages to find good farm.

So it wasn't Sylar, but DK definitely formed a dream team. Hopefully they live up to the hype, because expectations for this team are going to be HUGE.

Maybe you guys don't remember last time DK formed a dream team... but let's just say it was a disaster. Hopefully this time it doesn't suck heh.
