I find that to be true in just about every DOTA-esque game. I've had games I won that were fairly miserable because half my teammates were dickbags, and games I lost where I still had a good time because I had a good team.

Problem is, unless you're teaming up with people you already know, you're a lot more likely to get the assholes than a good team, and even if you're gaming with friends DOTA and its clones can bring out some otherwise decent people's inner jerkass.

Got 3 keys. Its reallyyyyyy slow compared to HoN, and there are lots of heroes missing at the moment. Not bad tho, just played a few games with Enchantress and Dk, it was fun.. stopped playing the original dota like 2 years ago.

Way better than LoL, dunno bout hon. I still prefer HoN, but with the EA shit thats going :/ I may quit and go Dota2

Dota is slow in comparison to HoN because the game itself runs slower. When HoN was in beta they played with adjusting game speed. They ended up making it 15% faster if I recall. This lead to a lot of problems with animations, so they had to speed up attacks, and as a result the game itself plays a lot faster than Dota does, much like going from Brood War to SC2, if you've ever played those.

    ...

Whoever gives a beta key to Jon doesn't get banned from DLP.

    How about that for incentive?

Yeah, Dota is definitely slow than HoN. Jury's still out on whether I like it or not. It gives more reaction time, but games taking 60 minutes on average and no concede button...?

I know it's a beta, but the final version really needs some of the improvements HoN brought to the table. Concede, more visible cooldowns.

On the other hand, I love the default mapping of items being the num pad.

I seem to recall someone organising a 'key chain' of sorts to distribute keys for Vindictus. Maybe we could do the same here?

If a friend sends you a key does that give you 3 extra keys?

Nope. Need to be given original key by developers to get extras.

So, does DOTA 2 still use the whole Agi, str and Int system from the old DOTA? Cause that was the biggest difference for me when I switched from the old DotA to LoL. I see that nobody mentioned this in the previous posts. The interdependence between these stats and things like armor, attack damage, attack speed, etc made DotA a lot more quirkier than LoL any given day. This is the system from old WC3 which was expanded to the extreme in DotA.

I would very much like to play in that system again, so, does DOTA 2 use the same system or is it different like in LoL?

The core mechanics and items are the same as in DotA Allstars. Truth be told the only thing that changed are graphics and sound (both for the better IMO).

I loved DOTA allstar, playing the old treant protector as tank, holding up the 5 enemy hero, was awesome. The new DOTA 2 is a want more money thing....
