360 difficult system is crappy. I was playing at normal and the first revenant I found killed me before I even knew I was fighting one, not to mention some crazy ambushes while I tried to travel to get some quests done. After I lowered it to casual I raped the Revenant without even trying. Go figures.

Still, its fun to watch how everyone is against every choice I make. Heck, Morrigan complains when I get quests to find some cash, and Allistar and Leliana get mad at my choices as how to end things...

Having fun thought and looking foward to when I finish and start over as a blood mage :wizard:

Just thought I'd go ahead and tell you then while Blood magic does indeed work very well and is quite entertaining if you want to keep your party don't mention it ever at all.

Interesting, I wasn't thinking of using force field like that at all. I was thinking it'd be useful to put on a tank with threaten aura, making all enemies beat on someone they couldn't damage at all.

    Lawl. Personal experience, eh?

Also; Since Ive been playing this like... constantly since I got it, everyone on IRC knows this, so Ill go ahead and share on the forums.

For major lulz, play as a male and get Morrigan to sleep with you. Then go and romance up Zevran. Tell Morrigan you're leaving her for him. Hilarity ensues.

Also; I'm not entirely sure if it requires the Warden's Keep DLC or not... But the Superman-rip off scene is pretty lulzy. If you don't need it, you miss an epic sword since you take the metal to the keep and dude forges it for you...

Same here. Well, mages are versatile like that it seems.

What? Not even Morrigan is going to be Ok with it? Always thought she'd be all for it.

By the way, I took the Rogue route this time and meet the bloodmage you see at the end of Magi origin. Is it possible to recruit him?

Shit, I'm never going to get rid of this game am I?

Yeah I made that mistake on my mage, mentioned I was a blood mage now, at the time I had Lilliana, Alastair and Wynne in my party and they all turned on me and smashed my face in before I realized what was going on. I'm not sure how Morrigan would react because I just never really got the chance to tell her.

Also on a totally non related note, foursome with Zevran, Lilliana and random city skank.

    That is all.

Force field is amazing, you can shield allies who are about to die, heal them then crushing prison them (crushing prison on a force field'd unit cancels the force field out and knocks down all nearby enemies). You can also freeze reverants for like 15 seconds, allowing you to heal up and regen some mana.

You can't recruit Johan (or whatever his name is) but he does
escape if you don't kill him at redcliffe - someone tells you later on in the game that he escaped custody of the magi

Chime, are you playing on 360?

Because I hear people talking about the shockwave combo but I can't seem to target allies with prison =(

Oh and even better (imo) than the superman scene, go to mages tower then stand by the fence next to the inn(near the job person guy) and you should see one of the most awesome things in the game. I won't say more as it would spoil it, not sure what triggers it either.

I like the Rogue assassin Zevran (sp?) but in order to get his storyline stat boost, you have to borderline flirt back with the fucking guy or give him tons of gifts to get his affection up. No way to do this that I've found so far without the guy outright hitting on you.

Gay/Bi characters in games are fine but I don't appreciate having my male mage hit on in order to unlock parts of the story/bad ass stat boosts =P

He replaced Leilana quick, I'm sure Shale will replace him though.

This game is full of Fetish Fuel.
Morrigans robes should have been an indication at the start, but
    the female spirits and demons
    just blew me away. :D
I've now finished all the Ally-gathering parts and just did the Dalish one. Nice.

There's some leak, someone on the DAO forums tried limiting the game to just one core, since the game is running multicores at 100% for no fucking reason. I tried it, no performance loss for me limiting it to one core.

I just got this yesterday and I've been playing through on Nightmare, it's extremely rage inducing to be killed by every little group that decides they want a piece of you.

That being said I had something around thirty resets before I took out my first Revenant at Redcliff. I finally pulled it off by pulling all his minions and getting them first and have plenty of health items on hand. As it is my character is a level eight warrior. He's kinda low in stats, 20 str and dex with magic at 11 and the rest 17 or 18. The reasons because I've been raising my cunning so I can sweet talk my way out of things when I get the chance.

Completed it yesterday with a Spirit Healer/Shapeshifter (regretted the latter majorly, but meh it didn't gimp me much) mage, with maxed out in all the offensive talents and a fuck TON of willpower.

By the endgame battles were essentially either tough or gigawineasy depending on whether I could get off a Blizzard. From that point it was Blizzard -> Tempest -> Inferno, and with everything in a decent radius taking 45 damage per tick, it was GG for nearly every battle in seconds.

Final battle was tough as nails, but a bit meh meh meh really, could have been better in my honest opinion. The buildup to it was SUPERB however, loved the progression to that final point.

Ending was excellent. Roll on the sequels.

I just rolled up a 2H warrior and he's going to be a bellend to everyone. Shale, Wynne, Morrigan party, I reckon. shale tanking, me DPSing, morrigan pewpewing, wynne healing.

There's no way Ali turned on you. Just no way. He may have been majorly pissed but if he attacked you its a glitch. The only way Ali turns on you is if

    You spare Loghain's life

    About Zev...
If you plan on keeping him in your party a lot I'd recommend getting him as high as possible. If not you'll lose him near end game. Heck even having him high and choosing the wrong options will still make you lose him. Supposedly

I can recommend leveling Persuasion up as the main character, it's always useful in these situations. ;)

    Wasted points on cunning.

With 12 base cunning you can persuade most people early game, if you do Tower of Magi first you can get +4 to cunning permanently, at 16 cunning you can persuade almost everyone... invest 2-3 more points and you're set ... not even really necessary if you're a warrior too - most of the time you can intimidate your way through dialogue which is based on the intimidation skill and str.

After that... cunning has no use. Unless you're a rogue and you've invested into the passive abilities that give bonus damage based on cunning.

In-fact, I've found being able to persuade sucks. It's almost always better not to persuade. Only time you'll really want it is if you screw over relations with a party member. Otherwise, you'll miss out on killing certain NPCs which give nice XP and drops since persuade/intimidate usually makes people run away.

Just finished the game on normal, rage inducing indeed.

I loved and hated the dwarves part, very interesting but very annoying as well. It took so long to complete because of every little request from the fucking nobles. At the end I wanted to chop of the prince's fucking head, but in the end I suppose working with the entitled class would be so irritating in real life.

Anyone else feel bad ass as a mage? There was one part in the Dwarves quest where I had to get past about 20 warriors and 20 archers, and I just used Inferno and the AoE Electric storm (can't remember the name). Just felt like a badass when I had a tornado of fire on one side of me, and a storm of lightening on the other.

DLC is pretty much useless, I really was hoping the tower would play a bigger part in the story. Having a base of operations would be great to utilize, at the same time giving the Wardens a way to project some real power. As of now it's the home of one fucking family of merchants, and the actual castle area is closed off to me.

Also-Morgana. Anyone who ended up giving her a kid-What do you think will be the consequence?
