On the Gohan fanfictions, has anyone been able to find any good ones lately? I can't find shit and the only ship I read in the DBZ universe is Gohan/Videl. Pissing me off, damn it.

You have no idea how much humor I'm getting out of this. That kid from War of the Worlds as Goku? Against Marsters as Piccolo? Former is epic fail so bad it might turn into win and the later seems as good a choice as any. Marsters does good in the antagonist role. I mean, he [WotW kid] fight the role perfectly of that punk kid who wants to rebel against his parents. How do you go from that to alien martial artist with super powers who saves the world every month or so?

 

The series died when Goten and Kid Trunks be came super sayains for no fucking reason.

 

Kind of took away from the whole 'super' part of it, didn't it?

Still, it'll probably be amusing and I was a big fan of DBZ while I was in school... Got a bit crappy after the Cell saga though (I liked the whole human-bug look and the Androids) but the Frieza saga was brilliant. Haven't seen/read much of the original series though, I got introduced to it too late, but wasn't Goku a kid in that? Or at most about 4ft tall.

EDIT: Also, just looking at Frieza again on wikipedia... He's the gayest looking antagonist I've ever seen...

 

He was a kid for most of the series, but there's a time skip later and he's basically an adult in the later sagas.

In the first dub, Nappa is incredulous (and humorous sounding). Vegeta doesn't say "it's over 9000" he screams it at the top of his lungs. Its lulz.

 

That 9000 shit is lame and isn't funny at all. So I don't see the "lulz" in it...

and like many of you, I also watched DBZ and Dragonball during Middle School.

A live action movie though? I think I'll pass.

 

Admittedly, it isn't funny at first glance. The humor for me is "Why did I ever watch this show?"

"Balls in my other pants pocket," is genuinely funny, though. Who was high when they translated that?

 

you know what, now that i think about it, i don't think this movie will be a massive failure...well, with the fight scene anyway. The hair on the other hand might be a setback.

When i got to thinking i suddenly thought of The Matrix 3 movie. That last fight scene between Neo and the other guy (can't remember) was actually the closest scene resembling to dbz. The whole flying scene, the large crater when they crashed, hell even when the two punches meet creates shock waves of power from pure strength...actually now that i think about it i think that fight scene was largely influenced by dbz. If that wasn't i'm a fool.

 

I think I'm going to see it despite the epic fail that it's likely to be.
I'm mainly gonna go because I dedicated so much time to it in middle school.
