I don't do either but I'm pretty sure weed doesn't kill braincells. It fucks with your motor skills, but doesn't kill brain cells. You may get stupider when you are on it, but you won't be stupider after using it. Cocaine kills brain cells. Or at least, it kills your pleasure cells, meaning you need more and more to get high, and weed probably won't do it for you after doing a lot of Cocaine.

You're just not smoking the good shit, Lizard. I personally prefer not having a stick of chalk repeatedly shoved up my nostrils and feeling as if I'm having a minor stroke every 15 to 30 minutes. Then again, the only time I've tried cocaine is when I was already high as a bitch, so I couldn't feel much of a difference.

However, I did hear that cocaine is a hell of a drug.

Just as long as it's not Heroin or some dodgy-cut meth variant - that shit's just plain fucked.

Speed n Weed I can tolerate.
Alcohol.. meh I could do without the braincells, but kind of need the Liver to Live - hence it's name.

This. The 'makes you stupider' comment was more of a joke than anything else, and the 'right in one' a dopey one line response to a dopey, not-getting-the-joke one line response from the illustrious Custer.

    Heard that many a time.

It can be. Personally, only the gear I get from the guy I use now has ever really done it for me. And nowadays the market is flooded with shite - you'd be ripped off if you only got 10% purity ten years ago, nowadays you're lucky to get 5% purity for £15.00 more. Friend of mine died in my teens because some bright spark dealer got the idea to pad out his product with powdered lime. That sort of thing, back then, was a rarity. Nowadays it's a different story; an old colleague's little sister bought off a guy outside a club not six months ago and was in A&E with crushed glass in her sinuses.

Stick with what you know. And, speaking seriously because ^that^ reference to the good ole days has sobered me up somewhat, I would never advocate any kind of drug to anybody.

That said, cocaine doesn't drive men to beat up their wives or drive cars into trees, and we're on a thread about drinking. I am amused to no end that Fiat and others get pissy about doing me a line a few times a month; cocaine is self-destructive whereas alcohol is just plain-old destructive. Go figure.

Lol Don't be a derpface, GL. As if some crackhead hasn't lied to, cheated, hurt, or stolen from friends/family/strangers to get a hit. I'll def support the idea that alcohol is more destructive than cocaine, but that's like saying shooting a few people to rob a bank exists on some higher moral plane than blowing up a bank full of people.

Meng, I'm talking about cocaine, the rock-star drug, not crack, the ho-train drug. And while you're right in that addiction can be crippling, the self-destructive/plain-old-destructive point was referencing more the physical/biological effects of being under the influence of them and how they independently fuck you up, not the social/criminal related shit.

But I think, on a deeper and less evil level, you knew that. Fiend. And I'll single-handedly fill the DLP derpface quota for as long as necessary.

This is why Ketadrone is the bestest of the best. Fun, not addictive, nice combination of two awesome feelings and lets face it, if you can pick up the power to raise your hand in violence against anyone when you're rolling around in an ocean of Ket, you deserve some applause.

Does anyone else find that they write better when they're tired?

I don't write better, but I get more ideas when I'm tired. There's a reason I keep a notepad on hand by the side of my bed for just those occasions when I'm on the edge of sleep and suddenly have this amazing idea.

Most of those don't age well to the next morning unfortunately, but some of them can be quite cool.

I may have come in slightly late for this, but a discussion about Scotch is always going to draw me in. Sadly, I've never been able to get my grubby peasant paws on the older Glenfiddich, but I do have an absolutely brilliant 14-year-old bottle of Balvenie Goldencask. Fantastic stuff. Any recommendations on future purchases?

With regards to writing while pished: I find it impossible. Typing is bad enough, but typing 5000 words a time? Not going to happen.
