Not sure if there's a bug board I missed? If so my bad, move it there or delete this after you get the bug.

Basically any post containing a superscripted 1 ( ¹ ) results in the edit window being blank. Not sure if it's the case for any superscripted character or just this one (I'd imagine it's any).

It's more a minor inconvenience than anything because you just copy the whole post then paste it when you edit. Or if there's complicated stuff in it like quotes, quote your own post, then copy everything inside the quote tags into the edit box.

 

Happened first in the pet peeves thread. Once I figured out it wasn't happening for all of my posts I took an existing post that was fine in ANOTHER thread, added the ¹ to it by editing, saved it. Then when clicking edit again it would give me the blank box.

EDIT: See it happens to me in both posts for this thread, if I posted again without the ¹ I have no doubt there would be no issue.

 

Pale Moon, but it's essentially Firefox (forked from Firefox ESR 24.0).

However I just logged in with IE and quoted one of the above posts (EDIT times out after X days?) and it was blank. Granted IE sucks and I don't blame you for not working around it.

 

It's probably related to the PHP 5.4 bug here if I'm right.

Sometimes weird characters make different versions of programs/tech items/whatever (this is uber simplified to not use proper terms and have people's eyes glaze over) have difficult lives.

I would link these together.

 

Hm, still having the issue, been noticing it more often but I think that's more to do with me than the problem itself. It's definitely happening for most any character not on my keyboard, eg. the é in cliché makes a post un-quotable.
