    I'm enjoying it. I'm Samanya'na, playing as a Redguard. :)

Had some very long loading screens yesterday, but tonight was much better. Had to /stuck a few times after ending a conversation and being unable to move. Using /stuck results in insta-death then reload. Might be a better way to fix it though, since dying makes your gear degrade. Hm.

/reloadui will fix that bug, its a known issue. Report which NPC it occurs with.

The textures are fine and obviously the polygon count is higher than Oblivion, but it's the colors that seem a little too bright, the faces looking too smooth, the way the characters move around, and (my main complaint) the battle. I prefer archery and I loved it in Skyrim - great range and you can almost feel the effort in drawing the bow. Here, it's like Oblivion where it feels like your fighting with a toy bow.

Well, I tried out the crafting system this weekend, and damn is that shit time intensive. I had a lot of fun with it, and it does give you a sense of accomplishment when you create a new item (which are actually useful), but it really slows down the leveling process. The previous 3 beta sessions I was able to level to at least level 15, but this weekend I didn't even hit level 10.

When the game officially comes out I am definitely going to need to create an alt dedicated to crafting so that my main character can focus on combat. The good thing, though, is that I can use my main character to still pick up resources around the world when I run across them and just put them in the bank for my alt to use for crafting later. I can even use my main character to earn money, buy more bank space, and then have my crafting alt create weapons and armor for my main character to use. I might even have two sets of crafting alts with one focusing on woodworking and clothing, while the other focuses on alchemy and enchanting.

I did some blacksmithing and provisioning as well this weekend, but I will probably not mess with them when the game comes out. I like to run as a light armor wielding, staff using, sorcerer, so blacksmithing isn't all that useful for me since it deals with heavy armor and melee weapons. Provisioning is ok, and probably the easiest crafting skill, but the rewards just aren't worth it enough, imo. I will probably sell the enchanted staffs and light armor I create in a guild store and simply buy any provision items I want from other guild stores.

I had a lot of fun this weekend and really look forward to (and dread) when the game comes out. It is going to consume so much of my free time and possibly even more so if I find a guild I want to join (I'm thinking of applying for guild Umbra).

Some of the buffs from provisioning get good later on down the line, even early the food is quite good. +1 magika / sec even during combat is nice.

Personally I never really understand the need to rush fast. Provisioning is very useful, and I like crafting.

Well, beta's over in a hour or two, and the game has convinced me to buy it when it comes out. It really does feel like a real TES game. The questing system is on par with SWTOR's, and it feels like a single-player experience at times. And I mean that in the good way. Immersive, and exploration is indeed rewarded. I ended up really liking it.

I was going to try it this weekend - they even sent me a beta key - but I could not, for the life of me, figure out how to register for the beta. The link they gave me sent me to the main game site, which just tried to sell me the game. The only place I could find to enter a key told me that my key was invalid, but I think it was for entering a key for the whole game, not the beta. I spent a good 30 minutes trying different links on the site to find the beta section, then just gave it up.

That's weird. All I did was click the link, create my account, verify it, log in, click the "redeem code" in the upper right corner, insert the code in the email, and I was set. Maybe they sent you a wrong link? Cause I'm pretty sure the link in my email led to a beta-only website.

As a person who doesn't like MMO's but has enjoyed Oblivion and Skyrim would you guys recommend playing this game? I like feeling that I can do things on my own, that I can do quests, clear dungeons, that sort of thing by myself. Not a people person honestly.

So having said that would any of you would say give it a go?

Being jokingly called "Skyrim Online" isn't that far off, you know. There are dungeons and a few group areas which obviously require a group. I tried to solo a dungeon, the first pack of trash completely demolished me several times. But you can definitely play through the main game solo. The experience is as good as in any TES game (so far).

It eventually becomes a question of endgame, though. Conventional endgame is grouped up pve or faction pvp. But if you don't care about that, I guess you could do exploring and crafting for a very long time, haha. Even without any party content, I can see the game lasting 100+ hours easily. And maybe in that time, you've met some friends you don't mind partying up with?

The great difficulty I have in buying this game is convincing my wife that I need the hardcopy edition, and that it's absolutely worth $100. I sure miss the days where all games of this genre came with the cloth maps and extra stuff.

Last time we had a weekend, I wasn't really optimistic that the game would be ready by April 4th. I was still hearing the lovely robot voice on NPCs in lower level areas, there were still rapant quest glitches (missing NPCs, things not spawning as they should, disappearing/misplaced markers, etc.), the occasional fall through the world and the like. This weekend, I saw none of it. Only got as high as level 17 though, so can't speak of the later zones. Regardless, I'm there at opening.

This is the first time I've played an MMO and seriously considered actually subscribing to it. But I don't think i could justify the cost to myself unless it was the only game I was playing a lot of, and I wouldn't want to do that unless my friends were also playing it. So at the moment I'm probably not going to buy it unless a group of my friends also want to switch over from LoL, but that's pretty unlikely.

Maybe I'll pick it up over the summer when I have a lot more free time to play.

Been looking for an MMO for a long time that ticks all the boxes.

But until that comes along, I'll be playing this.

    +1 subscriber.

Just out of curiosity, did you get those four-second freezes while in highly populated areas? Those and the conversation /reloadui moments were rather frequent... especially the freezes in the cities.

I'll take your word for it and go forward with buying the game.

What makes this different from all of the other hyped up MMO's? The last few posts have actually made me quite interested in buying this. I haven't played an MMO since WoW, but I've seen the hype and fail of quite a few MMOs since. Rift, SWTOR, GW2 etc etc.

    Why will this be different?

I love Elder Scrolls but I'm not sure if I'll get this or not because I've heard that it takes a giant shit all over established lore and that's kinda important to me.

SWTOR is still a very immersive and fun game. So is GW2. I love being able to pick up GW2 whenver I want, play it 4 hours per day for a week, then not at all for a month or two, and I can just hop back in any time I like.

I'm fairly certain ESO is going F2P within 3 months of launch.
