Two hours until it activates for me on Steam. I made sure to get all my sleeping done in the late afternoon.

Picked it up at 12 tonight. Played for a few hours and I want to continue, but I'm dead tired. Oh well, there's always tomorrow, and the day after that, and the day after that...

 

I can't properly describe the insane urge I had to shout "DOVAHKIIN!" as I as I left the store with my copy of Skyrim.

I can, however, describe the looks I got after I did just that.

 

I let out a manly squeal of glee when I used my first shout to push a giant off a huge cliff. :awesome

Nord + Huge battle axe seems to work fairly well.

 

My Orc is now mostly Magicka and One-hand based.

His strategy?

The Roast'n'Smash.

Dual-cast Flames, use Unrelenting Force to push the mob of enemies back, switch to dual-wielding my Ancient Nord Battle Axe of Frost, and my Mace of Ember, then smash'em to melty pieces.

Works every time (except against that giant who killed me and sent me flying into the sky, forever and ever and ever. <3 that bug).

 

God damn it! I was going to say fuck it and get this despite my massive queue of games to play, but my $1200 car repair bill says otherwise. FML.

 

Fours hours in and I am really enjoying it. Am pleasantly surprised that it runs so smoothly on my laptop. Can you run it told me I barely met the minimum requirements. Am so glad I decided to try it anyway.

 

Stayed up all night, got it at 8am and came home to play it. It's amazing. The only downside is that because my tv is old and small, I can't see the health, Magicka and stamina bars at the bottom.

This resulted in my Nord running around with a longsword and permanent healing spells. "Oh I got scratched by something? Could be fatal. Healhealhealhealhealheal.

Also, the throat of the world is a bitch to navigate first tme around.

 

Sometimes I hate not having money.

 

Definitely picking this up when I get off work. Can't wait to light one up and get to businace :3

 

How's it look like on low-medium setting guys? I checked and I have at least the minimum requirements but short of somehow getting my computer to recognize that I do have 4gb of RAM and upgrading my CPU I can't ramp it up. And then I would have to upgrade my motherboard and get new RAM so I can upgrade my CPU.

It looks and sounds goddamn awesome but if it's going to look shitty then I guess I'll have to wait. :cry:

Not that much of a difference to be honest. Sure, high looks better overall, but even on low it's easily better looking than Oblivion and thus playable and enjoyable.
