For PS3 and 360 only, for the moment. Apparently the patch was 92mb. Unfortunately for PS3 users, I've heard it doesn't completely fix the lag.

Very true. Besides, even on a low end PC it's doubtful your performance will be much worse than on a console, and with the limitations Skyrim has you don't even get much more from a high end PC. My 12GB of RAM does not like the 2GB cap...

I like consoles just because of the ease of access. A lot of small stores here don't sell PC games and I only have a laptop which doesn't have the greatest performance.

On the other hand, I'd give my right arm for mods. It's just something I'll have to go without and it's a shame, but that's the curse.

Just 'finished' the game, for one character, at least. 92 hours in, Nord warrior-type with 2h. Pretty cool and intense experience.

I've tried rolling a sneaky assassin, mage and sword&shield, but I just can't keep my interest. I guess I need a brief break before I play more =D

Once I get my new computer next month (X-mas present to myself), I'll finally be able to play. The laptop I'm on won't even play oblivion :(

Anyway, I plan on playing an artificier and maxing out Smithing, Alchemy, and Enchanting. I'll be enchanting me a special suit of armor or clothing to wear for whatever the fuck I need.

Next for maxing is Sneak and the various magics.

Been trying to acquire some iron ore to farm up my smithing, but it seems even if I wait 48 hours, the blacksmith who reliably stock it only get 2 in that time. Anyone know a town or place that stocks iron ore at higher amounts?

Nope, I've been running into that problem myself. I've had to resort to actually visiting mines with a pickaxe so that I can mine the stuff in person.

I got to 100 sithing in a relatively short time by chopping wood, buying ingots, making iron daggers, selling them and repeating. Of course I supplemented my woodcutting (Which is pretty easy to spam btw) with dungeon raids.

And the "Short amount of time" was like 11-12 hours. >_>

omfg... adding to my earlier post. When you kill deer you get venison.

    If you killed a Steelix...

Smithing to 95 (dragon is useless) in under one hour for all of my characters, after the initial experimentation that got me spamming iron daggers like mad. I guess you're going for the roleplay approach to things, Seratin, because I couldn't be fucked to scavenge up all of the necessary items needed to smith around 500 iron daggers.

I rotated through Markarth, Solitude, and Whiterun for everything I needed after getting around 6-7k.

XBOX players: if you press the guide button directly after choosing to wait, it'll speed up the time of waiting by a ton.

Has anyone figured out how to fight against surprise Ancient Dragons on Master difficulty (stealth character)? They fuck my world up regularly on any character that doesn't have magic or power bash.

Making the meshes, textures and replacing the animals wouldn't be so hard, but the real challenge would be rigging/animating them. I don't know what Skyrim uses for this, but I know it was pretty difficult in Oblivion/Fallout.

Also might have trouble implementing powers like fire and stuff, but nothing a bit of clever scripting and a good AI package couldn't manage. As for capturing them, it's totally possible. If I remember correctly, someone made a mod for Oblivion that added in pokeballs which you could capture people and creatures with, before releasing to fight for you. No pokemon were added though.

Unlikely it'll ever be made, unfortunately. It would either take someone pretty skilled or a team to make this, and neither generally take requests.

Personally, I made a lot of Leather Bracers to go with the classic Iron Daggers to build up Smithing. Leather's always easy to find.

Personally I invisioned that I was providing hundreds of daggers in secret shipments from Riverwood to Windhelm to aid in the Stormcloak rebellion. Literally, straight out of Helgen with barely a penny to my name, I stayed until 100 smithing.

It helped break through the monotony.

Someone converted the skyrim book into a ebook, which you can download here. Might be useful for that long bus trip back home in the weekend.

Played a bit. In my opinion it's tons more fun if you just abandon the main quest and go do whatever.

As a side note, I found it slightly amusing to be called Sneakthief constantly.

Also, doing Winterhold after the thieves guild feels a bit surreal. Like, for all the danger you go through in that quest line and all of the sudden you're being treated like a novice again. Can't help but think "I could kill you all, yuh know."

Just wait until you've done every other major quest line:

Main Character: Greetings noble shopkeeper. I am Dovakiin, the legendary Dragonborn.
Shopkeeper: Great, fetch me some fire salts.
Main Character: A fetch quest? I am the Dragonslayer. You know, the guy who killed the dragon that was attacking this town five minutes ago?
Shopkeeper: Never heard of ya. I'll give ya 20 gold for them fire salts
Main Character: I am the Harbinger of the Companions, Master of the Theives Guild, Listener of the Dark Brotherhood, and Archmage of College of the Winterhold. I am a Thane to every single Jarl in Skyrim. I single handedly turned the course of the entire Civil War in Skyrim, and saved Skyrim from the return of the Dragons!
Shopkeeper: Yeah yeah, go fetch my fire salts already.
    Main Character: FUS RO DA!

Whenever random NPC's really piss me off I just get on GameFAQ's to find out whether they're important or not and then if not I go wolf and just eat the little bastards. If they are I still eat them but I re-load afterwards, its amazing how cathartic ripping someones trachea out with your teeth is.

After Skryim, I have lost all desire to ever play as a High Elf. Fuck the Aldmeri Dominion.

My latest character is a High Elf just so that I can be smug and arrogant to everyone I meet.
