In my current game I'm Harbinger of the Companions, Archmage of the College of Winterhold, Listener of the Dark Brotherhood in Dawnstar, and working on becoming leader of the Thieves Guild. I'm supposedly the emissary of one Daedric prince, and I wield the mace of another. I intend to pursue more Daedric quests, because they're pretty damn entertaining.

Overall, I felt the Oblivion Dark Brotherhood questline was superior to the Skyrim one. There was just something awesome about rising up through the ranks, and then turning against your brothers in a bloody massacre in the sanctuary, before hunting down the culprit in a major conspiracy against the leaders of the Brotherhood, and finally becoming Listener. The Skyrim questline, in comparison, leaves a lot to be desired.

The Companions questline is pretty cool once you contract a certain curse and receive Ysgramor's battle-axe. I prefer it over the Fighters Guild in Oblivion.

The College of Winterhold stuff is kind of interesting, but the college itself isn't anywhere near as cool as the home of the mages in Oblivion.

I'm enjoying the Thieves Guild story at the moment. It's probably the best of the various factions.

In Oblivion there were symbols for each faction, and the symbol would change, becoming fancier and more illustrious as you rose up in ranks. I wish that was still in Skyrim. It was a purely aesthetic thing, but I liked it. It was a simple visual representation of how awesome your character was. Someone should mod a similar thing into Skyrim.

What? The only thing I do is explore and I have most of the shouts you described. Problem is, I can't find the second or third word for them, making them useless (in my opinion, at least). For example, the lower armor shout doesn't seem to make a difference. The only 'full' shout I have is some sort of whisper that distracts enemies. Really useful stuff.

You're obviously not exploring enough then, but here's a list of where to find Words. Finding/killing enough dragons to power them up is another matter, of course.

Just shout at the sky as soon as you arrive anywhere 'civilized; and with witnesses. Then, after a while, a courier will give you a letter and a quest marker. Just keep doing this, every single time you're in a village or anything.

What Thaumologist said, except that IIRC, you won't get a new courier letter with a new location unless you've already explored the previous location.

Also, if you are far enough along the main quest,
and not too far along, I think,
you can go to the Greybeards and ask them about Words, and they will direct you to a location with a word.

Yeahhhh your not exploring enough then, its really not that difficult to get the second and third words for most of these if you go out and look.

The second and third words are always in locations near the first word, too. Ice breath is up near Windhelm, with two of the three being within an in-game hour's travel of each other.

I've hit my first serious glich, in the Blood on the Ice quest. I'll spoiler tag it.

I've jailed the court mage, and there's another murder. He tells me to go patrol the stone quarter. As soon as he tells me that, the objective checks off and Calixto runs all the way across town into the abandoned house. I try and kill him, but he's invulnerable. Whenever he hits zero hp, he just takes a knee.

I was going to leave it alone, but then I bought my Windhelm house: the same one he's in. So my enchanting lab is still the killers hiding spot, and I can't do anything in it because he keeps trying to kill me. This is the XBox version, so I can't console it.

So once I wrap up the main quest, I'm going to start a new game, which will kill my old one. Which I've put over 90 hours in. This makes me very sad.

Just create a different 360 profile and start a new game there. The saves are tracked separately.

Ohhhhh, well shit that sucks for you. The only bug I've had on my PC version is where it sometimes forgets that Im standing on a floor and I just fall through from the top of a temple to the bottom.

Just disable auto saves and keep track of which manual save you're about to overwrite--I have two characters going on one profile and haven't had any troubles so far.

Well its official now that if the Stormcloaks didn't hate me before they sure as hell do now. I just got the Dead Thrall spell for getting my Conjuration skill all the way up and I have now resurrected Ulfric to be my tap dancing zombie bitch forever.

For some reason it would not let me use dead thrall on Ulfric, so I picked up his lieutenant instead, and draped Ulfric's corpse over the dinner table for all the traitors to stare at while they eat. Does Ulfric do the zombie moan? Maybe I can remedy the issue via console...

Lawl I wouldn't know, I've been having too much fun just experimenting with the spell, for giggles I went back and reloaded it before I fought Ulfric and I went to the College at Winterhold to snag that snooty prick Ancano's body and I made him my thrall then I went back to go fight Ulfric and after Ancano and Galvar had nearly beaten each other to death I set them both on fire and made Galvar my thrall who I promptly made beat Ulfric nearly to death and I set them both on fire again before snagging Ulfric's corpse. I laughed so hard I was crying the whole time.

The Arnie one was pretty appropriate, considering how many people in-game seem to be doing a bad impression of him.
