For those of you who use nudemods, I'm sure you've already heard of the CBBE body mesh mod that makes female characters' T and A rounder and fuller, scaled by the Weight setting from Character Creation. I realize it's been linked here before, but I'm here plugging it again for those of you who don't use it or know about it.

I recently installed CBBE, or Calientes' Female Body Mod Big Bottoms Edition, and it's pretty fucking amazing.

The guard in the background of that picture is thinking one thing and one thing only.

"If I hadn't taken that arrow to my knee..."

Where did that meme come from? The Internet says Skyrim, but I was reading The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss today and the character Kvothe (under the assumed name of Kote at the time) also talks about having taken an arrow in the knee (though I assume he was just making that up).

So, where did it come from?

It's Skyrim. A lot of guards say this when you are passing by ("I used to be an adventurer, but then I took an arrow to the knee.")

It could be a reference to The Name of the Wind, but it's likelier a reference to the fact that knee armor (greaves) was removed in Skyrim.

I always saw it as a bit of a meta-joke about the fact that the main character get beaten, stabbed, and arrowed to within an inch of death, and still be perfectly fine after five minutes with no lasting ill effects.

Ran into an odd and incredibly shitty glitch today. I play on 360 btw, as I don't have a computer that can comfortably run any games. Slight spoiler for a Dragon Shout Wall location. Doubt anyone would get mad but eh, no reason to chance it.

I was in Hag's End, and I ran across a Shout. I ran up to the wall, and the typical sounds started up. The whooshing, the chanting, and the visual... wind I guess started going from the wall to my player. And then it kept doing that. I never learned the word. I must have sat there for ten mins, reloaded my game, and re-entered the room twenty times. Never gave me the Shout.

I have not encountered a new word that I could not learn, but I have gone by old word walls that I learned from and they started the chanting and screen darkening. Not going to lie, I stood there for a couple minutes before it dawned on me.

Yeah, I've had that happen too. This was the first time I had been in that location though.

Started a new character today to keep the first one from getting stale and discovered a daedric quest I missed within twenty minutes.
A Falkreath guard also set hired thugs on me for stealing something in a house in the middle of nowhere. Vindictive bastard.

Discovered a possible glitch last night. I'll stick it in spoiler tags for anyone who hasn't done the Markarth Forsworn quests.

In the process of breaking Madanach out of prison, I killed a guard or two because they looked to be attacking everything in sight and I got somewhat carried away, Lancelot style. Plus I was pissed off at them framing me for murder. Then I ducked into Cidhna Mine and killed the guards there for being part of locking me up. When I came out, the Forsworn were all gone, apart from a few scattered bodies and Markarth had a full complement of guards again. Who promptly tried to arrest me. I resisted, they called their friends, I died. I reloaded and decided to just go to jail. They sent me to Cidhna Mine. Which had no guards to release me because I'd slaughtered them all. So I was stuck. Fortunately I never overwrite saves and I save a lot, so I just went back to before the start of he last part of the Forsworn quest. But yeah, don't kill the guards in Cidhna Mine if you ever plan on going there again.

Oh, and afaik, you can't kill Madanach. I got him down to a sliver about a dozen times, but then I would suddenly die from his frost shroud thingy.

Edit: scratch that, you can kill him. Just not if you decide to help him.

Or you could just try to kill all of the guards in the city.

I just have all the guards wanting to stick me in jail and going in circles in their conversation trees about cidna mine now that I've broken out >.>

Yeah, that didn't work. I just redid the questline
and killed Madanach for being the one behind framing me, then snuck out of prison and was thanked by Thonar, who cleared me.

More recently, I entered a drinking contest that somehow took me from Whiterun to Markarth, and it seems like the rest of Skyrim as well, all in one night. Apparently the shit my drinking buddy and I pulled was hilarious.
I woke up in the Temple of Dibella, being berated by a priestess for fondling the statues and making a general mess of the temple. I also stole a goat and sold it to a giant, set up a wedding for myself, and possibly some other stuff as well. I haven't finished retracing my steps yet.

That's the most hilarious quest line in the game. By far.

The staff you get at the end of it is absolutely awesome too.

On an unrelated note, the Wabbajack is amusing as fuck. Right up until it summons a Dremora Caitiff that kills me in one shot.

I'd be happy about getting a Dremora; Daedra hearts are hard to find/expensive, and you can't make Daedric gear without them. Then again, by the time you can make Daedric gear, you've usually advanced your character up to the 'money no longer matters' point anyway.

Incidently, I finally got around to finishing the main quest, and I have to agree with the other posters that it's a bit underwhelming. What really bugged me about it was the fact that the main questline didn't seem much longer than most of the sidequest lines.

And once you do take down Alduin, the finale is basically a slightly harder version of the same dragon fight you'd already done 50 times, and then a couple people saying 'Good job killing Alduin kthxbai.' It doesn't help that Alduin and the other dragons never quite sold themselves as a huge threat.

Compare that to Oblivion, where you go running through the middle of a Daedric Invasion of the Imperial City, see a showdown between one of the Nine Divines and a Daedric Prince, and save all of Tamriel.

There're ways to easily obtain Daedra Hearts.

Babette in the Dark Brotherhood usually has one or two to sell. That dealer in the Winterhold Mages' College has a couple to sell most of the time as well.

There's also Mehrunes Dagon's shrine that you gain access to after doing his quest line (started by going to that museum in Dawnstar). There's 4 Dremora there, that respawn every in game week or so.

    In short, easy to obtain.

Yeah, I didn't have much trouble getting enough hearts once I actually made a point of looking for them, but getting one for free never hurt my feelings. Sure, gold in Skyrim is pretty much only good for buying houses and training, but despite that I still find myself fond of getting things for free and looting everything worth taking.
