Its an amazing series, I was pleasantly surprised to find a post about it on DLP. This series deserves way more recognition.

 

I'm reading Empire of Silence atm, and I think that it has some strong points, but also a lot of weaker ones. It feels heavily derivative of Dune and Warhammer 40K for one, and the amount of quotes the author throws around is a little bit distracting. Also, as someone mentioned above, the protagonist isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, and seems to have an abnormally intact moral compass for the environment he grew up in. He's like a psychopath in a normal society in reverse, seemingly the only person on his planet with any empathy.

Still, it's well written, and I'm enjoying the world building quite a bit.
