Baam is going to unseal Enne, who will then let him tap that in thanks, before developing a yandere complex over him.

Enne Zahard would be a better yandere than the one we have now, so that would be good. I still vote he rails Garam and Mazino somehow learns of it. Poor Baam has no luck.

Well, he's two for two so far (counting legitimate Zahard Princesses, at least).

    Beelzebub.

De Niro Kanzaki made me laugh, which makes this the best Beelzebub chapter in at least the past month or so. Other than that, nothing really unexpected or exciting.

Aww Lamia does love Furuichi after all.

Toujou's loss to Himekawa and the fact that he's completely untouched now probably means Himekawa's a good guy.

"Furuichi!! Are you all right with that?"

    Meal time.

More Erina, more Nikumi. Good chapter. Also laughing at Italian kid still trying to play rival. He got trolled by Souma before Souma got all pissed off and serious. He doesn't have a chance now.

Is anyone here reading Vinland Saga? It´s been a while since I have read the bulk of it but I´m still kind of annoyed by Thorfinns apparant conversion to buddhism. I know it serves as a juxtaposition to Canutes character developement but it still isn´t very fun to read about a pacifist MC. Who knows what kind of resolve Tf. has come to at the end of the chappy though. Alas I kind of doubt it will be to kill Canute: http://www.batoto.net/read/_/178260/vinland-saga_v12_ch94_by_4chan

I'm of two minds about Rachel, really. I don't like her as a character and don't imagine I ever will, nor do I want Baam to ever forgive her for what she did. That said, I do appreciate what she's brought to the story. Without that moment, Baam would just be happily climbing up the Tower with his cadre of true friends and getting into adventures. In other words, this would be just another shounen manga (manhwa if you want to get into semantics). Instead, we got something much better, so I'll at least credit Rachel with making ToG a better series.

    Tower of God.

Not a very exciting chapter, aside from Wild Pikachu. I really really really really hope the Workshop Battle is not going to be a single combat tourney as the end panel would indicate. That would be so fucking boring and such a letdown after all this buildup.

Keep this open while reading the chapter. SIU gets profit from page clicks and such.

Yeah another plot heavy chapter. But it was probably worth it, now I'm curious about Emilie.

I hope it turns into something like the crown game. That was pretty fun.

That's a rather unfounded fear. I highly doubt something as big as this consists of one unchanging arena. We don't even really know what that platform is for or who it is that's on it.

Maybe. The biggest reason for concern is SIU's wrist. I'd much sooner hope for him to get his surgery done and wait for the conclusion of this arc, than to have him rush through an unimaginative tournament scenario just to get it done quickly.

    Shokugeki no Souma.

Potential new harem member sighted. Also, Souma fail? Lolno. Try harder to add suspense.

The problem is that Souma has been established to be well into the upper echelons of skill among students. Adding any kind of tension or suspense is quite difficult, it seems like every new challenge is more ridiculous than the last and we've yet to see him actually fail.

That'll be the next stresspoint, he'll fail somewhere he doesn't expect to (a shokugeki, probably, where the result of failing isn't him leaving the school). I don't get the impression that his cooking hasn't meaningfully improved at all since he's been at Tootsuki and the mangaka will probably want something like this to use this as motivation.

Nah, because he's already had his 'I didn't win and I'm pissed' moment just recently after 'losing' to Shinomiya. I expect we'll see him take things to the next level with this latest dish unless all that wall-punching rage was just a load of bullshit.

Oh sure, he had his little rage at that but it didn't seem like much, to me. He was pissed with himself, sure, but on some level the dish wasn't his. He has to fail and it has to be all his own doing.

He needs something that will take him up to the next level - in universe, his dad wouldn't have sent him there if he had nothing to learn. Just him pulling out all the stops that he already has to make something awesome isn't enough. He actually needs to improve.

I always thought his dad more or less sent him there to make him experience the broader cooking world and to decide his real place in it. I mean, as soon as Souma declared his entire plan to keep cooking at their little special of the day shop, his dad decided to close up shop and send him off to the school. And if that still remains Souma's desire once he gets through Tootsuki then fine, but his dad wants it to be an educated decision and not one made simply because their little shop is the only thing he knows.

In other words, I don't think his father's decision had so much to do with the son's skills being somehow lacking, though I'm sure the idea of refining his technique further didn't hurt.

Fair enough. I didn't think his dad though he was particularly lacking either, just that there was something he couldn't learn working in a restaurant with his Dad perpetually there. I'll grant you that it's hard to see what he lacks, I haven't been able to think of anything specific. I wouldn't support my argument if I didn't just believe it for some reason :p

I'll certainly agree with you, though, that's certainly an element of why his Dad sent him there. I just think pushing Souma's skills past what they are now - however phenomenal - is also part of it.
