Hey, just out of curiosity has anyone else been unable to log into PSN the last 48 hours? I've tried every tip they offer to make it work from unplugging my router, ps4, checking firmware etc and I still can't log in. I don't see anything on their twitter page announcing any issues either.

 

Did anyone else back Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night?

It's Iga's spiritual successor to Symphony of the Night that instantly ticked all my boxes in my 'awesome metroidvania checklist'.

Elevator pitch? Iga calls it an "exploration-based, side-scrolling platformer with RPG and crafting elements" (which also just describes SotN, lol)

It's the first time I've funded anything, not even Mighty No. 9 got me to donate.

A non pixel art metroidvania made by the guy who made the best one of those of all time? Yes please! And the art is utterly gorgeous; anime gothic/ horror but also popping with colour (stain glass is a huge theme of the game).

Either way, the campaign is over and they reached $5.5m, collecting all the planned stretch goals along the way. It also makes Bloodstained the most successful video game kickstarter of all time.

Supposedly due late 2017 on PS4/XB1/PC/Vita/WiiU and backers in the $28+ tier get an extra pixel art (ugh) prequel game earlier.

Avatar had the probably the best fights I ever saw in animated formed, that the gsme made by favorite action game company was such a disappointing and mediocre work...

My hype for now is Warhammer Total War. I only know Warhammer from what I read on the quests in SV and Rome II was a huge let of, but the modding possibilities for this... Third Age Total War Reborn. Thera 2.

 

I've been tentatively looking forward to it since I knew they were hiring for the project several years ago.

Well, that and a general idea from even before that of "You know, Warhammer Fantasy could probably work really well with a tweaked Total War game style. It's already based off of Europe and the surrounding regions primarily anyway."

 

You haven't heard, I take it? TW Warhammer will only have 4 playable factions: Empire, Dwarves, Vampire Counts and Orcs.

In addition, there'll be no modding as GW are a bunch of retarded cunts.

 

What the fuck is CA doing anymore. 4 factions in a TW game? Even that trainwreck Rome 2 had eight.

But I guess this is them teaming up with Games Workshop so there will be dlc aplenty.

 

I forgot that Game Workshop's raison d'être is to suck as much life as they can while they screw you and destroy everything you love. And I thought EA was the worst you got..

Well, fuck it. I won't buy the game on a principle, even if I like I will just keep using the pirate version, unlike all other TWs which I bought with it's DLCs on Steam sales (except Rome 2, that I pre-ordered it, and we all know how that went well). Better start looking for a new strategy game, CK II, here I come.

 

Yep, they already said something about how they'll expand the game in 2 expansions, so they're just holding back stuff to release it later on.

It is sad, that they do this. Wh40k is my favorite RTS, all that glorious carnage...

 

This is Warhammer Fantasy though.

But speaking of 40k, I hope that if a Dawn of War 3 ever does come out, it brings back gameplay from the first few DoW games, up to and including Dark Crusade. I've never been fond of the way DoW 2 played.

 

I know. I never liked WH fantasy,couldn't get into it.

Retribution was a fun game, the Multiplayer was hella hard, tho a little repetitive.

 

Fuck you GW.

 

If DoW III will be a thing and the gameplay goes back to base building like it was in DoW I my future as anything but an addict will be ruined. I invested thousands of hours into DoW I since the vanilla version was released.

Automatches, ESL, ESGL... god I want a time machine. After everything went downhill with DoW II I never had any gaming experience quite like DoW.

 

The PC port got outsourced to some console-focused studio which consists of 12 people. Some folks are saying, but it's unconfirmed at the moment, that the team in question had only a few months to make the PC version (in addition to working only with last-gen consoles and handhelds), hence why it's so shitty.

Really shoddy work from WB and Rocksteady, that they didn't bother doing a proper job for the PC version, but this happens every time a new generation of consoles comes out, PC gets neglected to the point where it almost becomes criminally bad how poorly optimized and ported the games are.
